NBA Player Props, December 27, 2022
- Keldon Johnson o20.5 points
- Deandre Ayton o20.5 points
- Jordan Poole o26.5 points
Keldon Johnson o20.5 points (-115)
Keldon Johnson has been on a tear, eclipsing this market number in 7-of-8 games played since December 4. During the month of December, Johnson is averaging 22.3 points per game on 18.3 shot attempts per contests – making him one of the most consistent high-volume players in the league this holiday season. Tonight, he gets a date with an Oklahoma City Thunder defense that ranks 25th in opponent three-point percentage this month. Johnson, the leading three-point assassin for the San Antonio Spurs, should have a great opportunity to cash an over here, assuming that his back tightness does not prohibit him from taking the floor.
Deandre Ayton o20.5 points (-112)
After making a brief appearance on Christmas Day before returning to the locker room, Devin Booker is once again out of the lineup for the Phoenix Suns this evening. Per Court IQ, Deandre Ayton is averaging 26.1 points per 36 minutes of action this season when Booker is off of the floor, meaning that he has a healthy margin on this market number for Tuesday’s action as long as Phoenix can maintain a competitive game script. When these two teams met last week, Ayton totaled 18 points in only 21 minutes of action in a 25-point defeat for the Suns. In a more normal game script, Ayton should have little trouble surpassing this number – take the over.
Jordan Poole o26.5 points (-120)
Two days ago, Jordan Poole scored 32 points in only 29 minutes against the Memphis Grizzlies before he allowed his emotions to get him tossed from the contest. Since Stephen Curry last played on December 14, Poole has scored at least 26 points in all but one game, including a 43-point performance against the Toronto Raptors in that span. Tonight, Poole gets a favorable matchup with a Charlotte Hornets team that ranks 30th in defensive efficiency and 30th in opponent three-point percentage during the month of December. Poole should be extremely aggressive in this matchup after letting his teammates down on Christmas. Take the over in this spot.
