NFL DFS DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey: Sunday Night Football Picks

DraftKings

Who are your three favorite Captains, ranked in order?

Notorious: Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Derrick Henry
ncorfield8k: Bijan Robinson, Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers
Davis Mattek: Bijan Robinson, Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers
Bobby Gomes: Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Derrick Henry

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents in the tournaments you will be playing? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: We should be doing ths on every Showdown slate, but I think the move tonight is to build your lineups with a game script in mind. If you think the Ravens keep the game close (or even win outright), Derrick Henry should be on the top of your list for tournaments. If you think the Falcons run away with this game, you should take a look at Justice Hill as a value, as he’s going to play on the obvious passing downs. Regardless of the game script, I am prioritizing Bijan Robinson at MVP and CPT.

ncorfield8k: With Lamar Jackson out, the field is projected to get away from the Ravens passing game. I’ll stick with it, as the Falcons defense is a lot better against the run, and Declan Doyle may try to attack through the air. The Huntley-Flowers connection has been a productive one the last couple seasons.

Davis Mattek: No one will want to play secondary Ravens players. Matthew Hibner (with Durham Smythe out for the season), Rashod Bateman, and even Mark Andrews are not going to be rostered heavily in a dome game.

Bobby Gomes: With a 3-point spread, a 43.5-point total, and a backup QB on one side, this isn’t a slate where you pick a side and hammer it. Go back and look at who actually wins these: It’s 4-2 and 3-3 builds, not 5-1 onslaughts, and the winning lineup has a defense in it way more often than the field does. The field will still build 5-1 Falcons lineups more than they should and treat D/ST as a salary dump. I’m not. I’m splitting the game, carrying D/ST above the field, and I’m not using a quarterback at the multiplier position unless he has at least two of his pass catchers with him. I’m not pretending every lineup needs to be a snowflake, but the top 1% of lineups in games like this are duped 20 deep. Most of my 150 lineups live in the consensus on purpose, while a handful are built to be unique if a weird outcome hits.

What is the most pivotal correlation (or individual player) when it comes to your portfolio of lineups?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
