What is your favorite correlation and why?
Notorious: Dak Prescott + CeeDee Lamb – The Cowboys have been eliminated from playoff contention, but I don’t expect them to let their foot off the gas this week. It’s a Christmas game against a division rival. This is the best matchup on paper, as the Commanders are 32nd in EPA allowed per dropback, 29th in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks, and 26th in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. I slightly prefer Lamb over George Pickens, as he is projected for slightly lower ownership.
stevietpfl: Bo Nix + Courtland Sutton – Denver still has a chance to clinch a first-round bye, and it starts with a win against Kansas City on Christmas Day. I like to target teams with something to play for, and on this slate, Denver is the clear-cut top option for teams with something to play for, whereas a team like Detroit needs a lot to happen to make the playoffs at this point. Sutton has 32 targets over the last 3 games and at least 1 touchdown in 3 of his last 4 games. He continues to be the top option in this offense. I like the chances for Nix to have a big game, and Sutton has the upside to be the best point-per-dollar receiver on the slate.
Krayton: Dak Prescott + CeeDee Lamb – The Cowboys have nothing to play for, but they get a great matchup against the Commanders, who have given up the 6th-most passing yards per game (255) and 2nd-most passing TDs per game (2) to quarterbacks. Both Lamb and George Pickens are great plays, and I want exposure to both, but I do like Lamb here, who had 5/110/1 when they played the Commanders back in October. We also saw Prescott throw 264 yards and 3 TDs iin that game.
ebeimfohr: Jared Goff + Amon-Ra St. Brown + Jameson Williams + Justin Jefferson – The field is going to, understandably, gravitate to Jahmyr Gibbs on this slate, but pivoting to a passing-game shootout makes a ton of sense. The Lions offensive line is in shambles due to injury, and they have been completely unable to run the ball in recent weeks. Brian Flores and the Vikings defense are going to bring a ton of pressure against this line, including to stop the run, which could open up big plays in the passing game for weapons like ASRB and Jamo. This creates a bit of leverage off Gibbs (and Dak Prescott stacks). Jefferson finally had a “good” game last week after Mike Brosmer replaced J.J. McCarthy, and the Lions’ man-heavy pass defense should set him up to have an even bigger game.
ncorfield8k: Cowboys D/ST + Javonte Williams – The Commanders are forced to play their 3rd-string quarterback, Josh Johnson. The Cowboys defense should be able to keep the Commanders offense in check. And while the Cowboys will likely be able to move the ball however they want, the game script will likely favor the run in the 2nd half. Williams is nice leverage on what should be a popular stack.
Davis Mattek: Bo Nix + Courtland Sutton + Marvin Mims – The Dak Prescott and Jared Goff doubles are going to be so insanely owned that it borders on inefficient. If you look at ceiling projections, the Broncos points-per-dollar stacks are actually quite close. Pat Bryant will likely not be playing in this game, which opens up routes for Mims and even Evan Engram. You can comfortably play Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown in Nix stacks.
Jordan Vanek: Josh Johnson + Terry McLaurin + Treylon Burks + Malik Davis + CeeDee Lamb – The Cowboys’ boundary cornerbacks have been terrible, and Johnson should take plenty of deep shots to the sidelines in this game. That sets up McLaurin and Burks as the primary beneficiaries. On the flip side, Davis looks better than Javonte Williams right now, and I’m willing to lean into the possibility of increased playing time heading his way. From the Cowboys’ side, I’ll want a pass-catcher, and that’s Lamb. The Commanders are one of the worst teams in the NFL at defending the slot, but they’ve shifted toward more two-high shells to limit explosive plays, which should help keep George Pickens in check.
