What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. My plan of attack this week is to build stacks with Caleb Williams and to be well over the field on Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers. This gives me correlation and also allows me to get away from the chalky Ashton Jeanty.
stevietpfl: I usually make 6-8 lineups for entry-limit contests and small-field, single-entry contests. I’ll also have 20-entry-max and 150-entry-max builds around the stacks and players I like. I tend to build as much correlation into my lineups as possible. For my 150 build, I want 2-3 stack correlations in each build. Our NFL DFS optimizer, LineupHQ, is a great way to do this using the Stacks tool.
Krayton: I will be playing my usual single-entry and smaller-field type of contests. I plan on being overweight on some of the more popular plays (e.g. Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, Cam Skattebo, Christian McCaffrey), but where I like to get different is adding 1-2 players projecting for single-digit ownership, such as James Cook, Deebo Samuel, or Malik Nabers.
ebeimfohr: I much prefer small-field tournaments, and this week sets up well for those. The overall projections of the slate are lower than last week, but the chalk will still become very overstated in those types of contests. There are outstanding plays, of course, but this isn’t quite the same as Jordan Mason, Kenneth Walker III, the Bears, etc. from last week. That sets up lesser-owned plays in these smaller fields as elite tournament plays that project similarly to much higher-owned plays, and you don’t need to hit the stone-cold nuts like you do in larger fields.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – It’s pretty easy to build around Christian McCaffrey and Puka Nacua, so a large chunk of my lineups will have both. The Raiders stand out as some of the top value on the board, but they are expected to be fairly chalky. In my lineups with Raiders stacks, I’ll get different with other pieces projecting for lower ownership, like Quinshon Judkins and Darnell Mooney. I’ll also lean into the Falcons offense again, despite how badly they let me down last week. This is an equally good spot, and everyone will be scared off.
Davis Mattek: I am always a single-entry and 3-max bro for main slates. There are two things I am planning on doing this week that I think are edges. The first is avoiding the Jonathan Taylor & Christian McCaffrey combo in the same lineup, which could be super popular, and the second is playing DJ Moore with Caleb Williams instead of Rome Odunze. These two things are enough to just play stone chalk in the rest of a given lineup.
Jordan Vanek: I’ll be focusing on single-entry and 3-max contests, as I believe there’s a clear path to being unique by leveraging Adonai Mitchell along with cheap running backs to open up salary for the studs on the slate. With Mitchell in my builds, I won’t be concerned about projected ownership and will instead lock in what I believe are the best overall plays. The biggest decision I will be making is between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. They carry true slate-breaking upside at the position.
