What is your favorite correlation and why?
Notorious: Justin Fields + Garrett Wilson — After missing most of Week 2 and all of Week 3 with a concussion, Fields will be back in the lineup. He tends to be extremely volatile because he leans heavily on his rushing and deep throws. While this gives him a low floor, it also gives him a high ceiling. He draws an elite matchup against the Dolphins, who are 32nd in both EPA allowed per dropback and fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. I like pairing him with his college teammate Wilson, who currently boasts a 34% target share and 49% air-yards share.
stevietpfl: Justin Fields + Garrett Wilson + De’Von Achane — With a smaller 2-game slate, I’m going to stack the volume. Achane has played 81.5% of the snaps through the first 3 games. He has 57.7% of the team’s rushing attempts and a 23.7% target share. Fields is underpriced for his rushing ceiling. I want to play Fields over Bo Nix on this slate. Wilson has run a route on 95.1% of the team’s dropbacks this season. He has 48.5% of the air yards and a 35% target rate. On top of that, he’s been the first read 46.9% of the time.
ebeimfohr: Justin Fields + Garrett Wilson — This duo has just about everything possible going for them on this slate. Fields is one of the best rushing QBs in the league, and he’s just $5,500 on DK. The Jets are a super-condensed offense, with Wilson drawing a monstrous 39% target share (1st in the NFL) and a 50% air-yards share (4th in the NFL) through 3 weeks. The Dolphins defense has also been a disaster in all regards, but they’ve been especially horrendous against the pass, sitting dead last in the NFL in EPA/play allowed against the pass by a significant margin.
ncorfield8k: RJ Harvey + DEN D/ST — I’m expecting RJ Harvey to continue the rookie RB renaissance this week. Sean Payton is not the most trustworthy coach, but he keeps saying Harvey is a big part of this offense. Harvey is more likely to be involved if the Broncos are controlling the game, so he pairs well with the defense.
Davis Mattek: Tua Tagovailoa + De’Von Achane – It has been lost in how poor the team has been overall, but Achane’s role as a receiver has even grown compared to what he was doing last season. The swing passes that comprise the entire Miami offense are going to be a huge part of their game plan vs. the Jets, and because people hate Tua, you are going to be able to get a massive discount on him.
Jordan Vanek: Tua Tagovailoa + Tyreek Hill + Jaylen Waddle or Malik Washington — The Dolphins are not a good football team, but the Jets also aren’t some juggernaut defense. They play a ton of man coverage, and that’s something this group can exploit. I think Tua double-stacks paired with the Jets rushing attack is the way to go on this slate. It foils a lot of the chalky builds and makes you really unique on a 2-game slate. If you’re struggling to defend Sterling Shepard and Calvin Austin, it shows that smaller receivers give you problems – and that’s exactly what makes up the entire Miami Dolphins WR room.
