Rams (vs. Giants)
Not only do the Rams have a significant rest advantage after playing last Thursday, they are also the superior team on both sides of the ball in this matchup. On offense, they are led by emerging MVP-candidate, Matthew Stafford, who ranks third in the NFL in passing yards and fifth in touchdown passes. Whether they face Daniel Jones, who has not practiced all week, or Mike Glennon, a career back-up, who showed few signs of life last week against the Dallas Cowboys, the Rams should turn-in a strong showing defensively in this game as well.
Chiefs (vs. Football Team)
There are strong arguments to be made that the Chiefs have the worst defense in the NFL. They have no pass rush, and are rarely within five yards of opposing receivers in the secondary. Still, Kansas City is an offensive juggernaut that has scored 33 or more points three times already this fall. Patrick Mahomes has been uncharacteristically careless with the football at times, already throwing six interceptions, but he is still one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league with a bevy of offensive weapons surrounding him. Washington has allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw for 14 touchdowns against only two interceptions so far in 2021. Expect a big day from Mahomes and the Chiefs in a winning effort.
Packers (vs. Bears)
Since an embarrassing 38-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints in their season opener, the Packers are undefeated, including two gritty wins on the road. Aaron Rodgers has been nothing short of sensational. Davante Adams looks as good as ever, evident by a 206 yard performance in a thrilling Week 5 win against the Cincinnati Bengals. Justin Fields has tallied wins in back to back weeks against inferior opponents, one of which was unexpectedly dealing with a media circus leading up to kickoff. Still, Fields is yet to throw for more than 209 yards in a game this season. It is doubtful that the rookie will be able to do enough offensively to keep up with Rodgers and the Packers.
Colts (vs. Texans)
Carson Wentz continues to be one of the lowest graded quarterbacks in the NFL. He is only further hindered by ongoing injuries and a porous offensive line that has him under frequent duress. The Colts have one of the worst secondary units in football, and have been consistently torched by opposing signal callers in 2021. However, they get to face arguably the worst team in the league on Sunday when they face the Houston Texans. Despite jumping out to a double-digit lead in Week 5 against the New England Patriots, Houston was unable to secure their first victory of the season. Indianapolis is a 10-point favorite for a reason. While the Colts might not cover, they should be able to win this game.
Steelers (vs. Seahawks)
Pittsburgh is playing with a significant rest disadvantage after the Seattle Seahawks played on Thursday Night Football in Week 5. Geno Smith is poised to start in Week 6 after Russell Wilson was injured in last week’s matchup against the Rams. However, this is not the reason that Pittsburgh is nearly a touchdown favorite in this one. Seattle might be able to slow down a weak Pittsburgh passing attack, but they are unlikely to stop the Steelers on the ground, considering that Seattle has allowed the second-most rushing yards in the league through five games. Pittsburgh has multiple paths to victory here. One of them should lead to a win.
Cowboys (vs. Patriots)
New England is dealing with a devastating number of injuries right now. Last week, the Patriots nearly lost to the hapless Texans due to playing a significant amount of second-string players in starting roles. Since losing to the defending Super Bowl Champions on opening night, the Cowboys have won four consecutive games, including two of those contests by 20 or more points. While it is never easy to go into Foxborough to earn a win, if Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins could earn a win in New England, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys should be able to as well.
