Big Favorites

Since 2003, teams favored by 14 or more points are 126-10 (92.6% win percentage) straight up. In Week 7, the Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Arizona Cardinals are all favored by two touchdowns or more, and playing at home. There is no need to overthink any of these matchups. Lock-in the Rams, Cardinals, and Buccaneers as the top-three confidence plays in pick’em pools for this weekend.

Packers (vs. Football Team)

Since losing to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, the Packers are undefeated. During their five game winning streak, Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 12 touchdowns against only one interception. On the season, Rodgers has the fifth-best QBR of any quarterback in the NFL. There is a lack of consensus on the line for this contest with some sportsbooks pricing the Packers as -7.5 point favorites and other oddsmakers pricing them at -8.5 and -9.5. Green Bay is Though the Packers trailed at halftime to the Detroit Lions, and needed a last-second, game-winning drive against both the San Francisco 49ers and the Cincinnati Bengals to secure a victory —t hey are still a dominant team. The Washington Football Team is a mess defensively and are severely limited on offense as well. Green Bay is a safe option this week.

Ravens (vs. Bengals)

It certainly does not feel like it, but the Ravens have the best record in the AFC after six weeks of the campaign. After blowing a late-lead in Week 1 on Monday Night Football, Baltimore has won five consecutive games, including a 28 point victory in Week 6 against the red-hot Los Angeles Chargers. Lamar Jackson has shown tremendous growth in his ability to throw the ball down-the-field in 2021. While still inconsistent, his improved ability to pass from the pocket makes him one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the league to face. Intra-division games always come with a red flag because of familiarity with opposing teams’ tendencies, but the Ravens have played well enough recently to earn bettors trust at home.

Saints (vs. Seahawks)

Jameis Winston has not been MVP-esque, as many pundits eagerly proclaimed him to be after throwing for five touchdowns in Week 1. However, he has been serviceable and has shown an ability to beat weak teams more often than not. New Orleans easily handled the New England Patriots on the road in Week 3 and had a similarly easy victory against the Washington Football Team in Week 5. The Saints also held a big fourth quarter lead against the New York Giants before losing in overtime. Against a backup first team offense for the Seattle Seahawks, Winston, Kamara, and the Saints should be able to take care of business on Monday.

Patriots (vs. Jets)

In Week 2, the Patriots delivered an embarrassing 25-6 beatdown against the New York Jets in East Rutherford. New England’s defense forced Zach Wilson into four interceptions and held him to a pitiful 6.8 QBR on the afternoon. Mac Jones was tasked with a simple game plan that relied heavily on a strong rushing attack. The Jets are likely to be slightly more competitive this time around, especially if they can take care of the ball better. However, outside of a thrilling 27-24 overtime win against the Tennessee Titans, the Jets have been a laughing stock in 2021. Expect the Patriots to walk away with a win in this contest.
