NBA Player Props, January 1, 2023
- Mark Andrews o45.5 receiving yards
- George Kittle o45.5 receiving yards
- Nick Chubb Any Time Touchdown Scorer
Mark Andrews o45.5 receiving yards (-110)
Mark Andrews has failed to eclipse this number in each of his last three games, but it has not been due to a lack of involvement in the offense. In four games with Tyler Huntley under center, Andrews has amassed 25 targets. On Sunday, Andrews draws an extremely favorable matchup on Sunday Night Football against a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that features one of the worst linebacker corps in the entire NFL. Per Pro Football Focus, both Myles Jack and Robert Spillane rank 50th or worse in coverage grade in 2022 out of 76 eligible players at their position. Expect Andrews to be heavily involved again in Week 17, and for him to have a great chance to hit the over at this market number.
George Kittle o45.5 receiving yards (-113)
Indisputably, the Las Vegas Raiders have the worst collection of coverage linebackers in the entire NFL heading into this weekend, with Darien Butler, Curtis Bolton, and Luke Masterson each being undrafted players with minimal experience on the football field this fall. Across the last two weeks, George Kittle has totaled 213 receiving yards on 13 targets. On the season, he ranks third among all tight ends in catch percentage and yards per route run, according to Pro Football Focus. He should have little trouble finding open space on Sunday, with the only risk here being a blowout game script that allows the San Francisco 49ers to go away from the passing game. Nevertheless, this is a worthwhile stab for bettors at this price.
Nick Chubb Any Time Touchdown Scorer (+110)
Earlier this week, Cleveland Browns beat reporter Mark Kay Cabot reported on conversations from within the locker room regarding “(player-popup #nick-chubb)Nick Chubb’s”:/players/nick-chubb-328152’ chances at the rushing title, with left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. commenting that “It’d mean a lot. We’re going to work for it, we’re going to shoot for it, give him the ball (and) make something happen. So it’s definitely in the back of our minds and we’re trying to get there. Head Coach Kevin Stefanski further supported Wills Jr.’s comments when asked about Chubb’s chances at the honor, saying “…it would be great for Nick, but it’s great for the offense, great for the offensive line and all of those guys.” Facing a Washington Commanders defense that ranks 12th in rush EPA since Week 6, all signs indicate that Chubb will be busy in the nation’s capital on Sunday. Expect him to be heavily involved in the game plan, and for him to have more than one opportunity to get into the end zone in this spot.
