Happy Holidays everyone! With Christmas Day falling on a Monday, the NFL not only has a full day of football on Christmas Eve, but they’re taking over the entire holiday weekend, with games on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of December. For Saturday night, the Steelers and Bengals match up in a divisional showdown, followed by a likely blowout when the Bills and Chargers face off. I expected the Bills to be the main team to stick out, but it’s actually the Steelers, down to their 3rd QB, and the Bengals without Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, that stand out with some attackable spots for NFL PrizePicks predictions.
Each week, I’ll also deliver my top NFL PrizePicks predictions for Thursday, Sunday, and Monday Night Football. Use the PrizePicks referral code GRINDERS to receive a $100 deposit match to prep you for the NFL season.
PrizePicks Plays: Saturday, December 23rd
- Mason Rudolph – More Than 5.5 Rushing Yards
- Tee Higgins – More Than 59.5 Receiving Yards
- Trenton Irwin – More Than 15.5 Receiving Yards
Mason Rudolph – 5.5 Rushing Yards
Mason Rudolph is set to make his first start of the season in a divisional matchup against the Bengals. The offense has struggled all season under Kenny Pickett and looked even worse with Mitch Trubisky under center. And it’s still tough to imagine things get any better with Rudolph under center. Having said that, one area of the game that looks very attackable is Rudolph’s rushing yards projection on PrizePicks. 5.5 yards is far too low, as Rudolph has decent scrambling ability and is expected to exceed that number according to the RotoGrinders projections. Although it was nearly 2 years ago, Rudolph was able to muster 36 yards on the ground in his last start and has always had no issue tucking the ball to pick up a couple yards.
Play: Rudolph – More Than 5.5 Rushing Yards
Tee Higgins – 59.5 Receiving Yards
Without Ja’Marr Chase, this is Tee Higgins’ receiving corps. He would be a #1 option on most teams and has always shined without Chase in the lineup. On Saturday, he projects for nearly 69 yards in the RotoGrinders projections and has a ceiling for far more, as Jake Browning has been more than adequate as a replacement for Burrow. The Bengals come into this game as only slight favorites against the Steelers, and although this likely won’t be a shootout, Higgins should have no issue picking up at least 60 yards.
Play: Higgins – More Than 59.5 Receiving Yards
Trenton Irwin – 15.5 Receiving Yards
Speaking of players who benefit without Ja’Marr Chase, Trenton Irwin picks up more snaps and targets and immediately steps into a bigger role on offense. Irwin has had a bare minimum of 25 receiving yards in each game Chase has missed this season, showing just why this number is far too low on PrizePicks. The RotoGrinders projections have Irwin for nearly 27 yards on Saturday, much closer to his season numbers without Chase. He typically gets targeted on longer routes, so Irwin could easily eclipse this NFL PrizePicks projection with a single reception.
Play: Irwin – More Than 15.5 Receiving Yards
