NFL PrizePicks: Steelers vs. Titans Player Predictions for Thursday Night Football

deandre-hopkins-800x480

We have a classic Thursday Night Football matchup featuring the Steelers vs. Giants, meaning neither team has a total of over 20 points. It’ll likely be an ugly, grind-it-out, low-scoring game as both teams have struggled immensely on offense throughout the season. However, Will Levis looked electric in his first start with the Titans, linking up with teammate DeAndre Hopkins for 3 TDs last week. While Hopkins is going heavily owned on sites like Fanduel and DraftKings and I’m not sure I want to eat the chalk, he’s one of many PrizePicks DFS Pick’em predictions we can take advantage of in the Week 9 Thursday Night Football showdown slate.

Each week, I’ll deliver my top NFL PrizePicks predictions for Thursday, Sunday, and Monday Night Football. Use the PrizePicks referral code GRINDERS to receive a $100 deposit match to prep you for the NFL season.

PrizePicks Plays: Steelers vs. Titans

DeAndre Hopkins – 53.5 Receiving Yards

Hopkins and rookie QB Will Levis had some great chemistry in Week 8, as Deandre went for 128 yards and a whopping 3 touchdowns. It’s worth noting that this came on only 4 receptions and 6 targets, which is why I’m taking the underweight approach tonight on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel. However, I’m incredibly interested in getting to Hopkins on a site like PrizePicks. He’s one of my favorite DFS Pick’em predictions on the board for Thursday Night Football in Week 9. Hopkins is expected to have more than 60 yards receiving according to the RotoGrinders projections and looks revitalized with new QB Will Levis. If last week is any indication, it’s an easy smash. The beauty of the play is that this number is too low for Hopkins, even if Tannehill was at QB.

Play: Hopkins – More Than 53.5 Receiving Yards

Jaylen Warren – 19.5 Receiving Yards

The Tennessee Titans are one of the very best defenses in all of football at stopping opposing RBs from picking up yards on the ground. They have an extreme pass-funnel defense that hasn’t allowed their opponents’ RBs to rush for more than 62 yards in a game this season, outside of Zack Moss explosion game in Week 5. However, they’ve been one of the most susceptible teams to the pass all season long. Insert Jaylen Warren. Whether or not the Steelers are ahead in this one, I expect Warren to be the back heavily utilized to due his abilities as a pass catcher. Najee Harris shouldn’t be able to muster much on the ground, but Jaylen Warren should have a much easier time achieving success as a receiver out of the backfield and get much more time on the field than his counterpart.

Play: Warren – More Than 19.5 Receiving Yards

George Pickens – 53.5 Receiving Yards

Diontae Johnson may be the target hog in this Steelers offense, but George Pickens is clearly the #1 big play threat. He struggled last week upon Johnson’s return, catching only one of his 5 targets, but Pickens is a player who can eclipse 53.5 receiving yards with a single deep bomb. RotoGrinders only projects Pickens to exceed this number by about 5 yards, but I really like the chances of this happening for the Steelers wide out for all the same reasons laid out previously for Jaylen Warren. While Johnson is likely to get a lot of volume, I don’t trust him due to how injury-prone he’s been this year. With Johnson active, I love Pickens’ chances of exceeding his total, and if something were to unfortunately happen to Johnson again mid-game (a trend this year), then Pickens becomes an absolute smash of a DFS Pick’em play on PrizePicks for Thursday Night Football.
