NFL Week 3 GPP Scene: No Lead Was Safe!
We saw some major chalk plays emerge for NFL Week 3, and as it turns out, most of them actually smashed. By the end of the 1PM games, it was quite clear that it was going to take a monster score to bring down GPP’s on this Main Slate.
Using our awesome analysis tool ResultsDB, here’s a look at the most heavily owned players in the DRAFTKINGS NFL $4.25M Fantasy Football Millionaire Maker
Unlike Dan Back’s tee-shot into the 17th green at Sawgrass, you can see that the DFS world was on target with almost all of the top chalk plays (Note: FantasyPoints are not finalized in the above screenshot).
There was plenty of optimism from players finding themselves near the top of the leaderboard after the early round of games, but we should all know better by now, right? The 4PM game-set produced some massive DFS totals (Ie: Mike Evans, Evan Engram, Sterling Shepard, Keenan Allen, Daniel Jones, Christian McCaffrey, Greg Olsen, Alvin Kamara, Russell Wilson… amongst others) that shook leaderboards across the industry.
Random Observations
1) Daniel Jones is clearly going to make some rookie mistakes, but he immediately made the NYG offense more dangerous….. and a lot of this was without their most dangerous weapon in Barkley
2) It was just one game, but Josh Allen was terrific. Does Riverboat Ron have a decision to make at QB?
3) The only thing tougher than targeting the correct RB in the San Fran backfield might just be picking between Mike Evans or Chris Godwin.
Slate-Altering Injuries
Saquon Barkley – There weren’t many, but the one notable injury was a BIG ONE. Barkley had an injury scare early in the game but was able to quickly return. However, just a few game minutes later, he landed awkwardly on his ankle and headed straight to the locker room. He was later seen on the sidelines in a walking boot and using crutches, so…… we all await the potentially bad news.

It was a long sweat for RotoGrinders member hishboo, but this user managed to hang on and bring home the $1,000,000 first-place prize in the DK Milly Maker. A HUGE congrats is in order! With a final score of 275.70, it’s clear that he/she created a nearly flawless lineup. 2.9% owned Phillip Lindsay was the likely difference-maker here. Hishboo entered the day ranked #217 in our Overall Rankings and this massive pay-day will vault him/her way up the leaderboard.
It took a whopping 279.64 points, but SquadronSupreme lived up to his nickname and took down the $1.6M Play-Action for a nice $100,000 pay-day! Besting $634,164 other lineups is one amazing defeat. Russell Wilson erupted for 44.34 points and was just 2.5% owned, helping anchor this incredible lineup.

FANDUEL
On FanDuel, Bobbywow1 held off the field and took down the Million Dollar top prize. Spending every penny of his $60K salary, the triple stack of Daniel Jones, Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram led Bobby (I’m just going to assume that’s his name) to a life-changing win!
Other FanDuel Winners:

$440K Sun NFL Bomb ($100K to 1st) – Awesemo (shoutout to Squirrelpatrol for his 5th-place finish!)

Congratulations to all of the big winners. Week 3 was one of the highest-scoring weeks in recent memory and we saw a nice mix of “casual DFS players” and “pros” taking down some serious coinage!
