NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Monday, November 18
Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?
Moneyball16: David Pastrnak
Joda: David Pastrnak
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – We only have 6 games tonight, but we have a lot of stars, four or five of the worst teams in the league, and three teams that are bigger than 70/30 favorites. With all those great matchups and star power, I am still going to be taking real stands on specific teams, depending on the lineup. For example, if I play the Stars for the Avs, I have to make peace with the fact that I am going to be fading the Oilers’ stars in that lineup. If I want Cale Makar, I will much prefer Nathan MacKinnon with him over Connor McDavid. If I have McDavid in a lineup, I will prefer Evan Bouchard over Makar. If I otherwise like a lineup with McDavid and Pavel Zacha as one-offs, I will find a way to change McDavid to David Pastrnak or Zacha to Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Not all of these great matchups will hit.

Joda: Large-field GPPs – We have a loaded 6-game slate, ripe with superstar power in the form of Nathan MacKinnon, Connor McDavid, and David Pastrnak. Each of these superstars features a linemate that helps bring down the total cost. The X factor tonight is what to do with Dallas. They check in as a lofty -400 favorite, but as is commonly mentioned in this survey, the Stars have been underwhelming for fantasy purposes. They will not project well because of shared ice time, but I believe at least one Star will be in the winning lineup. I like rotating in guys like Jason Robertson, Logan Stankoven and Wyatt Johnston. Mason Marchment has been hot, with 4 goals in his last 3 games.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
