What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
TastefulTides: Single-entry and 3-max GPPs are my preferred format. The Dallas Stars, even without Mikko Rantanen, are my top team on the board today. They should be able to dominate the possession battle and should really dominate if they can get the man advantage. There are multiple ways that you can stack the Stars, which is also appealing. You can go with the high-end plays, but there are also value options like Matt Duchene and Esa Lindell that can be used for salary-saving options.
boggslite: I’m playing single-entry tournaments tonight. There is plenty of talent to choose from, but my favorite target is Carolina’s top line at home against Chicago. This line is fully correlated on the power play and will allow home ice to dictate the matchups at even strength. I’ll likely spend up at goalie with Connor Hellebuyck and/or one of the Minnesota goalies, who find themselves in good spots at home.
Joda: Large-field GPPs are my preferred format tonight. Last night, we saw Colorado fail in a pristine spot, and it seems like over the past week we have seen much more of that. Edmonton should have all the attention tonight, but there are plenty of ways to go. Vegas looks interesting against Joonas Korpisalo, and there are plenty of ways to build around the Golden Knights, given the Bruins’ propensity to take penalties. Montreal and Winnipeg are two of my under-the-radar targets.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
