NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Thursday, March 5
Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?
TastefulTides: David Pastrnak
boggslite: David Pastrnak
Joda: David Pastrnak
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
TastefulTides: Single-entry and 3-max tournaments are my preferred format. Boston and Buffalo are going to be the two teams that I focus on the most. Nashville is getting pretty thin and could be without Ryan O’Reilly as well, so I really think Boston dominates this game. Buffalo is interesting as well. I especially like using Tage Thompson as a one-off or with Rasmus Dahlin as part of Buffalo mini stack.
boggslite: I’m playing single-entry tournaments tonight. There is a lot of uncertainty with the trade deadline looming, and several teams have already made trades, which will lead to some moving parts to keep track of. My top target is Boston’s top line featuring David Pastrnak, as they have a great matchup against an inconsistent Nashville team. I also like Ottawa and Buffalo, as both teams have plenty to play for at this stage in the season.
Joda: Single-entry and 3-max tournaments are my preferred formats on this slate. There are not many expensive stacks outside of TB1 that really stand out, so I find myself leaning into more balanced builds. We also have two good value PP1 defensemen, Aaron Ekblad and Zayne Parekh, at our disposal. Given the likely popularity of Ilya Sorokin, I like the Kings as a contrarian option. Their top line is fully correlated and could be productive if the Islanders struggle like they did last night. Boston and Ottawa are my other favorite teams to target.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
