NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Thursday, October 15
Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?
TastefulTides: Auston Matthews
boggslite: Connor McDavid
Joda: Auston Matthews
Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in large-field tournaments?
TastefulTides: Jack Eichel
boggslite: Kyle Connor
Joda: Jack Eichel
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents in the tournaments you will be playing? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
TastefulTides: There are plenty of really great spots for offense. Since that is the case, it’s easy to play a contrarian stack without giving up a lot in projection. Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews are going to be popular, but I am looking to pivot to other high-end pieces that are likely going to be a fraction of the ownership.
boggslite: Unlike Tuesday’s slate, many of the big names draw great matchups tonight, making a stars-and-scrubs approach my favorite way to approach lineup construction. There is plenty of cheap value, especially on defense, which will lead me to build around a team’s top line but not forcing a defenseman from the same lineup, especially if they are expensive.
Joda: Injuries have forced some skaters into increased roles, and the prices have yet to reflect it. Building with the stars-and-scrubs approach gives you access to the ceilings of the superstars without relying on a full line to hit, especially since many of the best plays do not have fully correlated linemates. Some of my favorite targets are Auston Matthews (who looks like he is back to his best) and Jack Eichel (against an undisciplined Calgary team).
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
