What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field tournaments – On a slate where Edmonton, Colorado, and Tampa Bay all have great matchups, it’s tempting to want to pick and choose players from these teams, but for each lineup I make, it’s very likely I will be taking a stand with only one of these teams per lineup and hoping that one of them has players hit the 3-point bonus. If I play Evan Bouchard, it will certainly be in a lineup with Leon Draisaitl or Connor McDavid, and not playing him with Nathan MacKinnon or Nikita Kucherov. If I’m playing Mikko Rantanen, it will be with MacKinnon, etc. I don’t know which of these teams will be the most productive tonight, but on a per-lineup basis, I will not be hedging my bets.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – There’s a lot to love on tonight’s slate with Tampa Bay, Edmonton, and Colorado drawing favorable matchups on home ice. I’m expecting ownership to be spread out among the big names from those teams, but there is also merit to going contrarian by targeting teams like Buffalo and Dallas. I’ll likely have a narrow pool of goalies focused on Connor Hellebuyck or Samuel Ersson given their attractive price tags.
Joda: Large-field tournaments are my preferred format tonight. Colorado and Edmonton are the standout teams to target for me tonight. Nathan MacKinnon, Connor McDavid, and Leon Draisaitl are 3 great plays, but we cannot have them all without sacrificing every other position. Playing at least one and trying to get two in most lineups while utilizing salary relief at wing and defense makes sense, as these superstar centers can really separate at the position.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
