OwnersBox NFL DFS Format
What is up, Grinders! We are here to talk about OwnersBox! This site is very creative for NFL, as it has given us what we’ve been craving for what feels like an eternity. Straightforward football builds. No kickers, no defenses, just the position players that get it done for us week in and week out. Did I mention there was a Superflex?! Yes, we have the ability to play two quarterbacks in the format over at OwnersBox. It consists of the following positions: QB, RB x2, WR x2, TE, Flex x2, and the Superflex, which could be a QB/RB/WR/TE. This is revolutionary for the DFS enthusiast, and I am here to talk through a handful of plays each week that I hope carry us to the finish line.
Top NFL DFS Picks for Week 10
Happy Week 10! Will is out this week, so I’ll be filling in for him as we take a gander at the Sunday NFL main slate over on OwnersBox. As usual, the following are a few of my conviction plays heading into Sunday’s 10-gamer.
T.J. Hockenson ($5,000)
The Vikings have a new sheriff in town, and his name is Joshua Dobbs. The Cardinals legend came off the bench to lead an impressive comeback win over the Falcons last week, and he’s slated to make his first start for the team this week against the Saints. New Orleans has been surprisingly respectable against the pass, though it’s a bit surprising to see the Vikings’ low 18.75 total.
T.J. Hockenson is just too cheap at only $5,000. He attracted a whopping 12 targets last week, of which he hauled in 7 for 69 yards. With Justin Jefferson still sidelined, Dobbs is well aware of the fact that Hockenson is the most potent weapon in this passing attack. Hock is cheaper than both Mark Andrews and George Kittle on OwnersBox, yet he projects better than both of them straight-up.
Joe Mixon ($6,000)
The Bengals’ offense is kicking it into high gear, though they’re dealing with injuries ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Texans. Tee Higgins has already been ruled out, while there’s a chance Ja’Marr Chase joins him on the sidelines. Mixon’s workload has been massive all year, and he’s logged at least 80% of the Bengals’ offensive snaps in consecutive games.
If Chase is out, Cincinnati could rely even more heavily on Mixon to shoulder the load for this offense. We have Mixon with the fourth-best projection among running backs on OB, yet he’s only the 12th-most-expensive option at the position.
Amon-Ra St. Brown ($6,900)
The Lions will return from their bye to face the Chargers in LA this week in the game with the highest over/under on the board (48.5). Detroit is actually favored here against a Chargers team that plays more than its fair share of wild shootouts. Amon-Ra St. Brown has picked up right where he left off last season as the top target for Jared Goff. He has at least 7 targets in every game this season, while he’s attracted double-digit throws on 3 separate occasions. St. Brown has also gone over 100 receiving yards 5 times through 7 games.
Amon-Ra is about as safe as it gets with that massive role, and I’ll gladly plant my flag with him this week in a potential shootout on the road.
Week 10 Closing Thoughts
Even though we can roster 2 QBs thanks to OwnersBox’s fun superflex format, I’m not convinced that’s the best way to go on Sunday. Most of the league’s top QBs aren’t even on the slate, and there’s enough to like at the other skill positions to where I don’t think we need to force the double-QB build in GPPs.
Good luck this week!
