NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today

Devin Vassell More/Less Than 31 Fantasy Points

Vassell is often overshadowed by the exploits of Victor Wembanyama, but the Spurs have found themselves a nice complement for their rookie sensation. Vassell is contributing career highs in points (19.2) and assists (4) per game while shooting an efficient 46% from the floor and 38% from 3-point territory.

The Spurs get a tough draw tonight with the reigning champion Nuggets coming to town. Denver is predictably a healthy 10.5-point favorite on the road over Gregg Popovich’s rebuilding squad, but it’s worth noting that Vassell ranks among the league leaders in minutes over the past several weeks. The Florida State product is logging nearly 38 minutes per game in March, and he’s clocked in with at least 36 minutes in 7 straight games.

Denver is certainly a capable defense, but Vassell would have to be quite inefficient from the field in order to fall below the 31-fantasy-point threshold in this spot given the monster minutes he’s playing of late.

Brandon Miller More/Less Than 30.5 Fantasy Points

Wemby and Chet Holmgren are almost certain to finish 1-2 in the Rookie of the Year race, but Miller is quietly in the midst of an impressive NBA maiden voyage of his own. The Hornets drew some heat for taking Miller over Scoot Henderson with the 2nd overall pick, but Miller’s certainly had the better season of the two thus far.

The Hornets are a dumpster fire overall, but Miller has been a bright spot. Like Vassell, Miller is primarily a scorer at this point in his career, but he’s been impressively efficient for a rookie. He’s contributing nearly 17 points per game on 44% shooting from the field and 37% marksmanship from deep.

Miller’s ancillary contributions are a bit lacking (4.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists), but he’s another guy playing consistent minutes. He’s averaging north of 35 minutes per game on the month, and he’s often seeing upwards of 40 minutes in competitive games. Even as 10.5-point ‘dogs against the Suns, perhaps Charlotte can keep the score respectable tonight with Phoenix on a back-to-back.

Devin Booker More/Less Than 24.5 Points

Let’s hit the other side of that matchup, shall we? The Suns lost a fairly lopsided affair in Boston last night, but tonight’s draw against the Hornets is considerably more favorable on paper. Charlotte has been better defensively in recent weeks, but they’re still not the Celtics on that end of the floor.

After missing a couple of games with a sprained ankle, Booker is quickly back to playing a full allotment of minutes. He logged 38 last night even in a fairly uncompetitive game, and he’s played at least 38 in each of his last 5 outings.

Needless to say, the Hornets aren’t exactly laden with quality wing defenders capable of slowing him down. Booker is still leading the Suns in usage, and he’s due for some regression (the good kind) from beyond the arc. Booker has knocked down just 2 of his last 13 attempts from 3-point range. I think those shots will be going down in this spot tonight.
