NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today

Mikal Bridges More/Less Than 28.5 Fantasy Points

The Nets will not be one of the teams participating in the postseason despite this being a very weak Eastern Conference. Brooklyn is heading straight for a rebuild following this disappointing season, and it’s fair to assume Mikal Bridges will be a core piece for the Nets moving forward.

He was a surprisingly effective scorer after arriving in Brooklyn in the Kevin Durant trade last year, but he hasn’t been quite as consistent this season. Still, he’s playing heavy minutes in competitive games. The Nets are 11.5-point favorites at home over the Raptors tonight, but at least Brooklyn is likely to be on the winning side if this game gets out of hand. Toronto will be resting quite a few regulars here, yet we have Bridges projected to log 36 minutes.

The Raptors have been one of the NBA’s most porous defenses for months, and they won’t get any better in that regard tonight with so many key players sitting out. Given Bridges’ solid 0.98 FP/minute rate for the season, he should be able to top 28.5 fantasy points here against a weak opponent.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander More/Less Than 1.5 Steals

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is an MVP candidate this season thanks in large part to his offensive exploits. He is averaging north of 30 points per game for the second year in a row, and his quick development has helped the Thunder to expedite the rebuilding process.

However, he’s also one of the game’s best defensive guards. He puts his long 6’6” frame to good use, as he enters tonight’s clash against the Spurs leading the league in steals per game (2.1). Mark Daigneault said before last night’s game that SGA wouldn’t be on a minutes limit despite having been hampered by a quad injury recently, and he wasn’t lying. SGA played 37 minutes in OKC’s win over the Kings.

There’s certainly a chance SGA will get the night off tonight on the back-to-back, but PrizePicks will simply cancel your entry if that happens. This is a good spot for SGA to rack up some steals, as the Spurs are 4th in the league in turnovers per game (15.1).

Darius Garland More/Less Than 19.5 Points + Rebounds

The Cavs have dealt with some injuries this season, but they’re largely healthy heading into tonight’s clash with the Grizzlies. The same, of course, cannot be said of their opponent. The Cavs are 5th in the Eastern Conference standings, but they still have an outside shot to get all the way up to 2nd before the end of the season if a few things go their way. So, JB Bickerstaff has an incentive to keep running his regulars out there over these final few regular-season games.

Darius Garland is averaging 18.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per game on the season. He comes into this one in good form, however, as he’s averaged 27 points over his last couple of outings. The Grizzlies are a better defensive team than you may expect given their incredible injury issues, but they are substantially worse in that regard with Jaren Jackson off the floor. JJJ will miss the rest of the season as the Grizzlies tank for lottery balls.

As we’ve seen, Garland is fully capable of topping 19.5 combined points and rebounds on points alone. He won’t help much on the glass, but I do think he’ll have some success against a Memphis backcourt featuring the likes of Jordan Goodwin and Scotty Pippen playing heavy minutes.
