PrizePicks NBA Player Picks Today: Top Plays for October 27

The first NBA PrizePicks article of the season for me came with a frustrating start, as Khris Middleton only played 16 minutes, and D’Angelo Russell finished one assist short, while not playing the final nine minutes of the game. However, we’re blessed with a much nicer 11-game slate on Friday night. It would be absolutely lovely for NBA DFS purposes if the league would give us some 5-9 game slates as opposed to these massive or tiny ones we’ve had so far. Thankfully, a bigger slate gives us plenty of options to choose from for NBA PrizePicks predictions.

NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today
Below are a few of my favorite PrizePicks plays for the October 27th slate.
Victor Wembanyama – More Than 17.5 Points
In his debut, Wemby managed 15 points in only 23 minutes. He was in foul trouble throughout the game, and this could potentially be something we have to worry about throughout the year. However, at least 2 of his fouls were very weak calls, so I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt going forward. The RotoGrinders projections have Wembanyama surpassing 20 points in this game, and if he can get close to 30 minutes in this one, it should be an easy task. He looked absolutely dominant in limited minutes in game one, and I can’t wait to see the destruction Victor Wembanyama imposes on the league in his rookie year. It’s obviously early, but the Spurs look legit, and Wembanyama is leading the way.
- Play: Wembanyama – More Than 17.5 Points
Ben Simmons – More Than 12.5 Rebounds + Assists
Although he still wasn’t willing to shoot the ball in his first game, Ben Simmons looked back to his old self. In limited minutes, Simmons was wildly active, racking up 10 rebounds and 9 assists. In a much, much easier matchup against Dallas, Simmons could easily eclipse this total in just rebounds OR assists alone. Dallas looked expectedly terrible defensively throughout the first game, and although Simmons isn’t going to drop 20+ points, we don’t need him to for this specific NBA DFS Pick’em PrizePicks prediction. Simmons was much more aggressive throughout the preseason, and the reports coming from the Nets organization are that he’s ready to play like his old self. I want to get on these PrizePicks predictions before the lines catch up to his newfound confidence later in the season.
- Play: Simmons – More Than 12.5 Rebounds + Assists
Xavier Tillman – More Than 29 Fantasy Points
Without Brandon Clarke and Steven Adams, Xavier Tillman has historically been an absolute beast for the Grizzlies. This was the case in the first game as well, as Tillman exploded to the tune of 17 points and 12 assists, totaling 48 fantasy points. He’s going to need to play heavy minutes tonight against Denver, matching up against Nikola Jokic and should easily eclipse this total as long as he can stay out of foul trouble against The Joker. Not only is Tillman expected to have more than 34 fantasy points according to the RotoGrinders projections, but he also has a whopping 74.08% success rate to score more than 29 fantasy points in the NBA Fantasy Pick’em Tool for PrizePicks. Whether it’s points, rebounds, or fantasy points, Xavier Tillman exceeding his totals are my favorite NBA DFS PrizePicks prediction of the slate.
- Play: Tillman – More Than 29 Fantasy Points
Dennis Schroder – More Than 25.5 Fantasy Points
While Dennis Schroder starting at Point Guard may not provide much long-term success for the Toronto Raptors, his fantasy points PrizePicks prediction is still far too low for his role in this offense. In the first game of the season, Schroder played 32 minutes being heavily involved as a ball handler en route to scoring over a point per minute. It’s not likely he will maintain quite that much success throughout the year, but 25.5 fantasy points is still too low of a number on behalf of PrizePicks. He projects for 29.14 fantasy points on PrizePicks according to the RotoGrinders projections and gets a great individual matchup tonight against Coby White and the Bulls.
- Play: Schroder – More Than 25.5 Fantasy Points
