A unique test for golfers, RBC Heritage will assess the shotmaking abilities of the field. With so much at stake, will a golfer from down the board surge past the upper echelon? Will Jon Rahm continue to establish himself as the best golfer on Earth? Give our betting preview a read before looking through this week’s RBC Heritage betting picks.

Justin Thomas +2600 (FanDuel)
While Justin Thomas is not coming in with the best form after a missed cut at Augusta National, we need to consider a few things. First, Thomas saw the worst of the weather during The Masters. Second, Harbor Town Golf Links demands a specific skillset — approach game and around-the-green play.
Good luck finding anyone in the field with a better combination of the two. Thomas leads the field in SG: ARG over his last 36 rounds and despite a lack of crispness with his irons, he remains one of the better approach players in the game. When a course demands ball-striking, positional golf and throwing darts, I normally don’t look further.
Also, look at this price! BetMGM lists Thomas behind Cameron Young and Viktor Hovland. Excuse me? We lock in a full unit at FanDuel and don’t mind a OAD use if you still have him available at this point of the season.
Tom Kim +4000 (Caesars)
Next on our card, Tom Kim comes in at a 40/1 price tag after a nice debut at Augusta National. Not the longest player on tour, we finally get a course more suited to Kim’s skillset.
Kim ranks in the top 20 in approach and ball-striking and 26th in GIR over his last 36 rounds. Putting has been a concern as of late but the greens are so small that we hope Kim is able to take advantage of his approach game to leave makable birdie putts. Despite his putting woes, Kim is very capable around the green and might find himself with less trouble saving par if he doesn’t have to rely on the flat stick.
Either way, 40/1 is a very welcome price tag to keep the cost of our card reasonable. Without an outright victory this season, we a win puts us closer to even before we can get to profit town. In any event, Kim is on the card for 0.6 units.
Corey Conners +5500 (Caesars)
After a victory at the Valero, our old friend Corey Conners laid a massive egg at The Masters. Worry not, Conners was hit with bad weather at a course he normally plays very well. RBC Heritage is exactly the elixir Conners needs to bounce back.
Harbor Town Golf Links is simply a ball-striker’s course. You will not find many players on tour that will create as many opportunities as Conners at course like Harbor Town. The only issue, of course, is will he be able to cash in on all these opportunities? His putting and around-the-green game might be too much of an issue to compete with a field this talented but that is baked into his price of 55/1. At this cost, we can wager a pittance with the hope that Conners has a good week on the greens.
We are going to wager 0.4 units on Conners at Caesar’s.
Tom Hoge +10000 (BetMGM)
Finally, Tom Hoge checks in for us at a lofty price as our final selection. Let’s be honest, Hoge does not have the same all-around skillset as the golfers at the top of this board. However, what he offers is a great fit for the RBC Heritage.
Hoge leads the field in SG: Approach, ranks 4th in opportunities gained, and sits 10th in ball-striking. He is nearly last in around-the-green play but is very competent with the putter ranking in the 30’s. However, for an outright bet, we aren’t worried about the middling performance. We are banking on Hoge dominating on approach and cashing in his opportunities. If he doesn’t find the green, he wouldn’t win anyway.
So, Hoge makes sense as our last wager for a very modest 0.25 units on BetMGM. He will likely be a popular DFS play.
