Saints vs. Seahawks Best Bets, Expert Picks for Monday Night Football
Monday Night Football kicks off in rainy Seattle, Wa., as the Seahawks host the New Orleans Saints at Lumen Field. NFL betting analyst Nick Galaida has already previewed Saints vs. Seahawks odds, but he returns to join Dan Gaspar and Matt Schmitto as the trio deliver their best bets of the night. As always, check out our NFL Betting Guide for more football tips.
Saints vs. Seahawks Best Bets, Expert Picks
Alvin Kamara Over 91.5 Rush Yards
By Nick Galaida
Alvin Kamara has only hit this number once this season—against the New York Giants on October 3 in an overtime loss. However, he has been close a couple of times, totaling 83 yards on the ground against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 and 89 yards rushing against the New England Patriots. All three of Kamara’s 80-plus yard games came in favorable game scripts, in which the New Orleans Saints led for the majority of the contest. On Monday Night Football, Kamara gets to face a Seattle Seahawks defense allowing 4.4 yards-per-carry. The Saints should play with a lead for the majority of the night in this one, leading to a run-heavy approach for the New Orleans offense. Take the over here, despite the high number.
PICK: Kamara Over 91.5 Rush yards (-118), BetMGM
Geno Smith Under 206.5 Pass Yards (-110)
By Dan Gaspar
Geno Smith Under 200.5 Passing Yards – Smith barely passed this total in Week 6 despite trailing 0-14 at halftime and getting an extra possession in overtime (technically two but I won’t count the one play sack/fumble against him). I really expect the Seahawks struggle to move the ball in poor weather against a Saints defense that has given up the third-fewest points per game (18.2) in the NFL. Playing at the second-slowest pace in the league, New Orleans should also be able to limit overall opportunity for the Seahawks offense.
PICK: Smith Under 206.5 Pass Yards (-110), FanDuel Sportsbook
Seahawks +5 Against the Spread
By Matt Schmitto
This Monday Night Football line has moved a bit throughout the day. According to our friends at ScoresAndOdds.com, 56 percent of bets are on the Saints while 65 percent of the betting handle is betting on the Russell Wilson-less Seahawks at home. I’m siding with the latter as well. Lumen Field is one of the toughest places to play in the NFL, and Geno Smith hasn’t been terrible during his brief time behind center. So far he’s 33-of-49 for 340 yards and touchdowns, with only one interception. That’s serviceable. I’lWith Michael Thomas and Tre’quan Smith out, the Saints have struggled to score, even with a weapon like Kamara in the backfield. Jameis Winston has thrown three interceptions on 116 attempts this season. l take the home dog, hoping the Saints can slow down Alvin Kamara and force Winston into a mistake or three.
PICK: Seahawks +5 (-110), Caesars
