Divisional Round, Sunday – NFL Player Props

Dallas Goedert OVER 36.5 Receiving Yards (-115, DraftKings)

Dallas Goedert is an extremely important part of Philadelphia’s offense and figures to once again have a prominent role in the game plan on Sunday against the Rams.

Ahead of last week’s game against the Packers, head coach Nick Sirianni called Goedert a “big play maker” and a “complete tight end.” Goedert rewarded Sirianni for those comments by securing 4 of his 6 targets for 47 receiving yards, including a grown man touchdown, in which he ran through a defender on his way to the end zone.

Today, he gets another favorable matchup against a Rams defense that was only near the league average against tight ends this season, ranking 12th in DVOA. Los Angeles has been even more vulnerable against opposing tight ends of late, allowing 64 receiving yards to TJ Hockenson in the Wild Card round, 123 receiving yards to Trey McBride in Week 17, 59 receiving yards to Tyler Conklin in Week 16, and 61 receiving yards to George Kittle in Week 15.

Even in cold weather, Goedert is positioned well for a strong performance.

DeVonta Smith UNDER 4.5 Receptions (-120, DraftKings)

DeVonta Smith is a talented receiver, but this number is likely too high for him given the weather conditions and the likely game script. RotoGrinders’ Chief Meteorologist Kevin Roth is forecasting snow and sub-freezing temperatures on Saturday afternoon.

This is also a game that the Eagles should be able to win. Smith has 5+ receptions in only 5 of 10 games in which he’s been on the field for a Philadelphia win this season, including only 3 of 8 wins at home.

Both of these teams are likely to place a heavy emphasis on running the ball, which could bleed the clock and reduce the total number of opportunities for Smith as well. The math favors the under.

Lamar Jackson OVER 53.5 Rushing Yards (-114, Bally)

As a reminder, project “Skinny Lamar” became an off-season focus in part because Lamar Jackson was tripped from behind by a Kansas City linebacker last year in the playoffs. Following a Week 13 loss to the Eagles, Jackson’s mother reportedly reminded him to “use his legs.” Jackson enters play this weekend with 63+ rushing yards in 4 of Baltimore’s last 5 contests.

There is also the fact that Jackson has consistently used his legs throughout his postseason career, running for 54+ yards in 6 of 7 such games. Factor in frigid temperatures, and the Ravens could place even more emphasis on allowing Jackson to make plays with his legs. The over should have a great chance to cash.
