Vanek's Views: DraftKings NFL DFS Picks for Week 8

Cowboys WR Lamb

Using his experience as a former scout and staff member at Central Florida under Josh Heupel, Jordan Vanek takes an in-depth look at the upcoming NFL DFS main slate on DraftKings for Week 8. A 2025 Fantasy Sports Writers Association award winner, Jordan’s deep dive into the best stacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends is a must-read before you start building your lineups.

We get the return of Lamar Jackson in a matchup against Josh Allen – the first real test for Brian Flores’ blitz-heavy defense against an offense we believe in – and we also get a very stoppable Cardinals offense facing an equally vulnerable Cowboys defense.

The overarching theme for me this week is how strong the mid-tier looks. There are a ton of plays in the $6,000–$7,000 range that I love, and several divisional matchups, including a few rematches, give us plenty to work with. This might be the first week all season where I don’t view any of the top-priced RBs as must-plays, which makes that mid-tier even more appealing. I think there are a lot of different ways to build strong lineups without forcing the expensive options.

NFL DFS DraftKings Picks: Top Stacks, RBs, WRs, & TEs for Week 8

Game Stacks

Lamar Jackson ($6,800, QB, Baltimore Ravens)

Zay Flowers ($7,200, WR, Baltimore Ravens)

D.J. Moore ($5,700, WR, Buffalo Bills)

Ravens QB Jackson

When Lamar and Flowers have been on the field together, Flowers has an absurd 49% target rate per route and has averaged 9.05 yards per route run. Those numbers don’t even feel real, but they are, and this offense runs through Flowers. I expect similar usage to what Amon-Ra St. Brown, Puka Nacua, and Tre Tucker saw against Buffalo. All three scored over 25 DK points, with Nacua putting up 39 and Amon-Ra St. Brown 35. This is a simple “Don’t Overthink It” stack for me. I don’t mind including Mark Andrews ($3,400, TE, Baltimore Ravens), but I want the full ceiling game from Flowers.

Moore has been limited in practice all week, but I believe he’ll play a major role in the Bills’ offense in his return. The Ravens have been stout against RBs and TEs but has struggled against WR1s, allowing Tee Higgins, Carnell Tate, Drake London, and CeeDee Lamb to each surpass 100 receiving yards. The Ravens live in zone coverage, and Moore and Keon Coleman ($5,100, WR) are the only Bills WRs averaging over 2.00 yards per route run against zone this season. Moore leads the way with an impressive 3.32 yards per route run and a 35% target rate per route. This is a great matchup for him if he’s healthy.
