Finding Paydirt: Week 5 NFL Touchdown Picks — Win 2 Months of RG Premium & More Prizes!
Touchdowns, while extremely variant, make or break daily fantasy success and swing thousands of dollars every Sunday. Every weekend, players wait anxiously for the players on their roster to find paydirt. The purpose of the contest is to provide an opportunity for the RotoGrinders community to come together to sweat our touchdown picks together. Did I mention there will be prizes?
Happy Friday, Grinders! The first segment is complete after the first four weeks of the NFL season and we have some winners. Prior to getting into our Week 5 DFS slate, let’s kick it off with the leaderboard.
The Leaderboard
Well, wow, did the chalk come through or what. Jamaal Williams, T.J. Hockenson, and Zach Ertz came through as Austin Ekeler brought a monstrous three-touchdown performance. Ekeler’s three touchdowns bring a tie to yisman for first place overall while 1010mg got creative with CeeDee Lamb and company to stay atop the board. Congrats guys! Contest regular, SmoothLH20 scored a bunch of touchdowns as well, vaulting into a solo third. I will reach out for swag, otherwise your accounts will be credited with your prize.
Finding Paydirt Rules and Prizes
Very simple. Each week, I will publish Finding Paydirt on Friday morning — highlighting my favorite touchdown pick for the running back, wide receiver, and tight end position. To participate in the contest, you simply need to read the article and leave your three picks in the comments section. So, easy, right? You will take Jonathan Taylor, Davante Adams, and Travis Kelce! Easy!
Not so fast, friends! There is a catch. Each week, we will run the contest for Sunday’s DraftKings Main Slate (1:00 PM and 4:00 PM games). However, to make things a bit more interesting, I will be cutting the top five priced running backs and wide receivers as well as the top three priced tight ends. Everyone else on the slate is in play.
Each week I will post an updated leaderboard with the total touchdowns accumulated that week and for the season.
So, simply put, read the article, check the cut list, make your three picks in the comments, win prizes! What are the prizes? Read below.
The following prizes will be awarded to players based on their touchdown total for each four-week segment:
First Place – 2 months of RotoGrinders NFL Premium
Second Place – RotoGrinders T-shirt and hat
Third Place – 2 weeks of SAO Premium
The following prizes will be awarded to players based on their touchdown total for the first 16 weeks of the NFL season:
First Place – One month of RotoGrinders Combo Premium
Second Place – RotoGrinders Swag Pack
Third Place – One month of SAO Premium
Now, let’s get into this week’s cut list.
The Week 5 Cut List
Your selections must be on the DraftKings Main Slate and cannot be any of the players below. These players are the top five at both RB and WR and the top three at TE.
Running Back | Wide Receiver | Tight End |
Dalvin Cook | Cooper Kupp | George Kittle |
Derrick Henry | Stefon Diggs | T.J. Hockenson |
Christian McCaffrey | Deebo Samuel | Zach Ertz |
Austin Ekeler | Stefon Diggs | |
Nick Chubb | Tyreek Hill |
Now that we have cut the top-priced players, let’s make our Week 5 picks.
NFL Week 5 Touchdown Picks
James Robinson – RB – $6,300
After a disappointing loss against the Eagles in Week 4, James Robinson and company find themselves in a far better position this week at home against Houston.
Robinson has three touchdowns thus far in 2022 and should be considered a solid bet this week for a score against the Texans. The Texans’ defense allowed three touchdowns to Austin Ekeler last week (one in the air). Even if Travis Etienne vultures a score or two, there appears to be plenty of room for Robinson to get his.
I think he makes a nice pivot off of Jamaal Williams a week after his big performance. Robinson is -135 to score on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Mike Williams – WR – $7,100
The Chargers travel to Cleveland to play the Browns in Week 5. Despite the fight Houston offered in the second half of their matchup, the Chargers were able to hold on with an excellent performance from the offense.
Mike Williams might not have scored but he saw 11 Justin Herbert targets for 7 catches and 120 yards. Williams has two touchdowns and it is only a matter of time before he finds the box again. The Browns are barely middle of the pack in scoring defense and yards per pass attempt. I anticipate the Chargers’ offense will be on the move.
Wiliams feels due for a score or two. Let’s book him for his +125 price on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Gerald Everett – TE – $4,200
Everything we said above… copy and paste for Gerald Everett.
Tight end is a wasteland unless you are smart enough to play T.J. Hockenson. As a member of the club of those who didn’t, I treat tight end as a dart throw. Normally, I want to attack a good offense and hope a ball goes the cheap tight end’s way.
Everett is not your ordinary punt. With 6, 6, and 10 targets over his last three weeks, Everett has hit paydirt twice this season. Herbert should have plenty of opportunity to sling it the way of both Williams and Everett.
Everett is +210 on FanDuel to find paydirt.
Thanks for checking out this week’s article. Leave your touchdown picks in the comments for a chance at winning monthly and seasonal prizes.
