Week 8 NFL GPP Recap - Tevin Coleman or Bust
NFL Week 8 Tournament Overview
NFL Week 8 saw a handful of injuries to running backs open up some appealing value. Latavius Murray was the most popular selection in the DraftKings DFS Millionaire Maker at 34.79%. While he crushed for the second straight week as Alvin Kamara’s replacement, two other popular value running backs laid totals eggs and ruined daily fantasy sports lineups in a hurry; Ty Johnson and Chase Edmonds.
The 1 PM games delivered plenty of punch and separated the contending lineups from the ones drawing dead by the early afternoon. However, it was Tevin Coleman (4.03% owned on DK) that would ultimately be the biggest difference maker this time around as he eruputed for 105 rushing yards, 13 more through the air and FOUR touchdowns.
General Observations
Why on earth would Chicago play it safe and rely on a last second field goal? You would think they would’ve learned their lesson by now.
I’ve been slow to be a full believer in the San Fransisco 49ers. I think they changed my mind today as that defense looks to be top-tier and their offense is clearly more than capable as they dropped 51 points on the Panthers.
Freddie Kitchens is only eight games into his head coaching career….. But have we already seen enough? The decision making today was about as bad as the play-calling.
I think it’s safe to say that Cooper Kupp has fully recovered from his ACL injury. He hauled in seven receptions for 220 yards and a touchdown in front of the London crowd and only Michael Thomas has more targets this season than Kupp’s 77.
What the heck are the Jags going to do whenever Nick Foles returns? Minshew is not only entertaining to watch, but he’s been making key plays with regularity. Today’s 22/34 for 279 and three touchdowns (and 28 more yards rushing) only makes this decision even tougher with each passing week. Curious to know what Jacksonville fans are thinking about this?
Using our ResultsDB to look at the DK Milly Maker, Matthew Stafford made a rare leap to become the highest owned quarterback in Week 8 at 17.38%. Behind him, Ryan Tannehill was the only other quarterback to reach double-digit ownership and he clocked in at 10.00% exactly. It’s also worth noting that Teddy Bridgewater, Marcus Mariota and Matt Ryan all somehow found their way onto rosters. WTF.

It’s pretty clear that the Tevin Coleman and Latavius Murray combo was the way to go at running back in Week 8. Much like the 7-figure winner on FanDuel, nawmsayin also made nice selections in wideouts Mike Evans and Kenny Golladay. Sealing the deal for the massive win was a nice 32.18 fantasy point game from the 1.6% owner Daniel Jones.
