Chris Hogan vs. Houston Texans
Kevin Johnson was once one of the promising prospects in the league, but plummeted in 2017 thanks to an injury-riddled start to his career. Sports Info Solutions inc. has tagged with a him negative “points saved” metric (-11.5, 22nd worst) and a similarly dismal 22.5 expected points against. Now he enters a matchup in which he’ll likely see time covering Chris Hogan, a height adjusted speed mismatch who has the advantage of expert timing and the precision passing of Tom Brady. I could just as easily matchup Hogan with the very talented Aaron Colvin in the slot, but I know better than to assume the Patriots will align in 3 WR sets often. We will mostly see running backs and tight ends enter the formations on Sunday, foregoing the use of jabronis like Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson in favor of James White, Rex Burkhead, and others.
