Luis Severino vs Orioles: $53
Severino has certainly gone through a rough stretch and that may lead some to other pitchers today, but not me, as even when he got shelled by the Mets two starts ago, I was somewhat encouraged by what I saw from his pitches. In his last start, it appears as though he finally turned a corner with the following line of 5.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 Hits, 2 BBs, 8 Ks. He still struggled with command, but a matchup with the Orioles with an extreme pitcher umpire may be just what he needs. He comes into today with a 3.29 SIERA, 28% K%, and a 11.7% SwStr% and this is the matchup to attack, as the Orioles rank 6th in K%, 24th in wOBA and 23rd in wRC+ vs. right-handed pitching this season and we saw what Sonny Gray was able to do to them yesterday.
