Standout Arms

Aaron Nola vs Brewers: $55
The most talented arm on the slate today is Nola. He comes into today with a 3.21 SIERA, 25.9% K%, and an 11.6% SwStr%. He has some good stuff in his repertoire, great command with a 6.1% BB%, and gets 54.8% ground balls. The Brewers still have strikeouts in the lineup, as they rank 8th in K% vs right-handed pitching. They are a somewhat dangerous offense, ranking 8th in wOBA, 13th in ISO, and 13th in wRC+ vs. righties this season, but I’ll side with Nola in this matchup.

Dylan Bundy vs Marlins: $43
The next spot comes down to Dylan Bundy and Eduardo Rodriguez for me. At this point, I’m siding with Bundy with his high strikeout ability and safe matchup. He comes into today with a 3.48 SIERA, 27.3% K%, and 14.2% SwStr%. He’s also a fly ball pitcher facing a weak Marlins lineup that should work out well for him. The Marlins rank 11th in K%, 29th in wOBA, 30th in ISO, and 28th in wRC+ vs. right-handed pitching this season. This should be a great spot for a pitcher like Bundy.
