49ers vs. Eagles – NFC Championship Game Player Props

Jalen Hurts o21.5 completions (-114), FanDuel

According to props.cash, Jalen Hurts has only eclipsed this number in 5-of-16 games played this season. Yet, he is likely to have a great chance to cash the over in this spot for bettors on Sunday against the 49ers. In two games since Hurts returned to the field following a late-season shoulder injury, he has appeared to be limited to shorter throws. In Week 18 against the New York Giants, Hurts attempted only six passes of 10-plus yards down-the-field. In the divisional round, 23 of his 30 pass attempts were within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. Facing a 49ers defense that plays the fourth-highest rate of zone coverage, per Warren Sharp, Hurts and the Eagles offense could work to get the ball out quickly, which is likely to lead to a lot of completions near the line of scrimmage.

Miles Sanders o50.5 rushing yards (-113), FanDuel

In 17 regular season games, the 49ers’ defense ranked second in the NFL in rush EPA and allowed the fewest yards per carry of any team. Still, this market number is simply too low for Miles Sanders. In 18 games this year, Sanders has eclipsed this number 13 times, and has only recorded fewer than 42 rushing yards once – in a Week 18 contest that Sanders and other starters did not play a full workload. San Francisco’s defense unquestionably deserves respect, but this is an overcorrection. Take the over here.

Christian McCaffrey o30.5 receiving yards (-125)

In 13 games since being acquired by the 49ers via trade, Christian McCaffrey has eclipsed this market seven times. Only three times during that stretch has he recorded fewer than 22 receiving yards. On Sunday, Brock Purdy will face one of the league’s most intimidating defenses, which is likely to result in a game plan focused on quick throws – a few of which are likely to go in McCaffrey’s direction. According to Warren Sharp, the Eagles have struggled mightily against running back targets this year, ranking 24th in EPA per play. Expect McCaffrey to be involved as a pass-catcher in this spot.
