What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – CIN -140
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home If you had told me last year that Mike Leake would be favored next year against Matt Cain, I would have told you that you were crazy. That is all of the reality check I need not to use Leake. I chose to look at the numbers that have been recorded over the course of a career as opposed to those from a half of a season. SFO is batting .256 on the road, .258 versus right-handers, and .186 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 5
- Away Matt Cain is not having the season he had year ago but I love him today. Why? After a horrible April, he has lowered his BAA to .195 and his 1.07 WHIP is more in line with a player who has a low 3 ERA than it is with a player with a plus 4. Furthermore, he is holding left-handers to a mere .200 BAA so that spells bad news for Votto, Bruce and Choo. RG Expert Disclaimer this is a pick that could blow up in your face but I will be using him because his salary is so low and I think the upside is there. CIN is batting .258 at home, .247 versus right-handers, and .244 over the last 7 days RG Start-Ability 6
Batter Grind Down
- Home Brandon Phillips has the best set of BvPs versus Cain and he has been the hottest Red. If you think I am wrong about Cain then Votto and Bruce’s numbers are positive as well. Both Choo and Votto have ridiculous splits at home and versus right-handers. RG Stack Rating 3
- Away It is no secret that SFO is slumping but they own a .347 BAA versus Leake and won a World Series a year ago so I think their bats will get on track. Pablo Sandoval is a sick 7-10 with 2 HRs versus Leake. Hunter Pence is 6-18 with with 1 HR. Buster Posey is 4-8 with 1 HR. He also has 25.8 fp over the last week. RG Stack Rating 5

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 10
- Favored Team – BOS -155
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Allen Webster has been a gas can so far on the year. He draws a DG team that is not world-beaters but has shown they can be productive outside of their very pitcher friendly park. If you think he can pull it together then play him because the organization is high on him but I like to not try and catch lgihnting in the bottle with my picks. SDG is batting ..252 on the road, .242 versus right-handers, and .218 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 1
- Away Eric Stults has already not been good on the road. He just gave up 5 ER to MIA and now he gets the most potent offense in baseball. I do not like his chances today even if he is left-handed. BOS is batting .289 at home, .249 versus left-handers, and .342 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 2
Batter Grind Down
- Home This offense is so hot, I do not think the apocalypse could stop it. RG Stack Rating 7
- Away This is an RGEDP (rotogrinders expert disclaimer pick) but I think SDG hangs at least 5 or 6 on Webster today. Consider everyone playable either way but if you think I am wrong then do not over do things. RG Stack Rating 6

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8
- Favored Team – NYM -113
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home I never understood why splits matter so much but the numbers are hard to argue. In the case of Dillon Gee, he has been a 2nd tier starter at home and a complete scrub on the road. He catches an ARI team that is batting .259 on the road, .260 versus right-handers, and .235 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 6
- Away I am not a diamondback fans but if I were then I would consider Ian Kennedy the biggest disappointment on the year. He showed so much promise a year ago and now looks like he does not belong in the league. His WHIP is slightly better than his ERA should suggest but he is giving up HR left and right, 15 in 15 starts, and there is no reason to believe this trend stops against the Mets. The Mets are batting .219 at home, .232 versus right-handers, and .254 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 4
Batter Grind Down
- Home When A pitcher is struggling with the longball consider everyone playable. David Wright ‘s 4-11 with 2 HRs And Joe Satin ‘s 28.5 fp over the last week are the best choices. RG Stack Rating 4
- Away Miguel Montero has a decent BvP line versus Gee and is heating up. Okay, I have said he is heating up for weeks now but this guy was one of the best catchers in baseball a year ago and I have to believe he finds his stroke at some point. Left-handers have a very fat .328 BAA versus Gee so consider Kubel, Chavez and Gregorius in play as well. RG Stack Rating 3

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – TEX -137
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Martin Perez has not pitch an adequate amount of innings and his K totals are well below average. SEA is an easy draw but the have looked deadly in this hitters park so I think I will take a pass but he is worth a look in a multiple pitcher format if his salary is super low. SEA is batting .230 on the road, .241 versus left-handers and .250 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 3
- Away Hisashi Iwakuma is superman at home but very average on the road. He draws a TEX team that is great on paper but has been slumping as of late. TEX is batting .268 at home, .263 versus right-handers, and .239 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 6
Batter Grind Down
- Home Ian Kinsler, Nelson Cruz, Adrian Beltre and David Murphy all have positive BvPs versus Iwakuma. Leonys Martin has been hot with 21 fp over the last 7 days. RG Stack Rating 2
- Away There is a lot to like from SEA versus this left-hander. Morales and Bay have been productive.RG Stack Rating 3

LAD vs R ![]() | LAD BvP ![]() | COL vs R ![]() | COL BvP ![]() |
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 10
- Favored Team – COL -135
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home COL is not producing runs like it did in years past. In fact, the park ranks 5th in runs scored and 14th in HRs. Hardly, the albatross to a starting pitcher that you would expect given the way fantasy writers talk about the park. Jhoulys Chacin has a 7-3 record and has only given up 2 HRs on the year. I hope how impressive that fact is will not be lost on you. He has 4.31 RA at home but is 5-2 there. LAD is batting .257 on the road, .257 versus right-handers, and .297 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 4
- Away I would rather make love to a baboon than play Chris Capuano today, a male baboon named Mr. Chuckles. He is a worthless pick that has very little upside. H has pitched less than 100 pitches in 9 of his 10 outings and has only 37 Ks on the year. Plus, he is pitching in Coors Field. Ready or not, here comes the bomb! COL is batting .280 at home, .267 versus left-handers, and .243 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 2
Batter Grind Down
- Home COL is batting .317 as a team versus Capuano. Wilin Rosario 3-5 with 2 HRs is the most notable. Michael Cuddyer is hot with 22.5 fp over the last week. RG Stack Rating 7
- Away Yasiel Puig and Hanley Ramirez are super hot. Puig might not play because of an injury last night so monitor that because I am writing this well in advance. Andre Either has the best set of BvPs versus Chacin. I like Adrian Gonzalez today because he has shown signs of life and has the righty/lefty splits in his favor but this is a RGEDP (Rotogrinders’ Experts Disclaimer Pick) RG Stack Rating 4
