What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.0
- Favored Team – MIA -112
Pitcher Grind Down
MIA – Jose Fernandez really has some good stuff and now that he is getting more comfortable, he is really pitching well. This season at home he has a 1.75 ERA and a 1.000 WHIP. And the Marlins are actually favored tonight! That’s gotta mean good things for Fernandez. Target
MIN – Kevin Correia is a very average pitcher that rarely gets strikeouts. He also isn’t as good on the road as he is at home. The matchup against the Marlins is good, but I favor the Marlins bats in this one. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
MIA – Correia doesn’t strike out many batters and the Marlins have been tough to get outs against. Giancarlo Stanton and Logan Morrison are my favorite bats here.
MIN – Fernandez is a high strikeout pitcher and the Twins are not an overly powerful offense, I think it’s smart to stay away.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.5
- Favored Team – BOS – 165
Pitcher Grind Down
BOS – Typically Ryan Dempster is your ultimate risk and reward play, but he hasn’t allowed more than 3 earned runs in any of his last 5 starts. As long as he can do that again tonight, he is a great option because he gets K’s and run support. The Rockies have been struggling too. Target
COL – Juan Nicasio is fantasy irrelevant. No one ever takes him, he gets an average amount of K’s, has a high ERA, and you can’t rely on run support. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
BOS – The Red Sox are a tough team to take hitters from because you have to pay a price for all their good bats. Jacoby Ellsbury is probably my favorite pick because you can always rely on him to get you some positive points. He essentially turns singles into triples by stealing second.
COL – Carlos Gonzalez is a great great play today. If there is going to be any damage against Dempster, I think it will come from his bat. He has good success against Dempster and Fenway is a great place for Cargo.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.0
- Favored Team – STL – 155
Pitcher Grind Down
HOU – Lucas Harrell now has 4 quality starts in a row, the problem is that he faces the Cardinals tonight which usually doesn’t end well for pitchers. Vegas likes STL in this one and I do too. Avoid
STL – Jake Westbrook is a pitcher that has to rely on luck. He doesn’t get a lot of K’s and he is a ground ball pitcher so it really just depends on where the ball gets hit. I’d rather take a pitcher with bigger upside. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
HOU – Even though I don’t like Westbrook, taking Astros bats is a shot in the dark.
STL – The hard part here is deciding which Cardinals bats you like the best. Matt Carpenter, Allen Craig, Yadier Molina, and David Freese are all in play. Oh and I left out Beltran and Holliday.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – KC – 104
Pitcher Grind Down
KC – Ervin Santana has had a very nice season and draws a great matchup against the Braves who are one of the league leaders in strikeouts. Santana has posted a 2.98 ERA and a 1.070 WHIP at home this season and is a solid option tonight, the only question mark is that he isn’t a big favorite. In Play
ATL – If you take out one or two bad innings against the Giants, Medlen has been his dominant self once again. The Royals don’t strike out a lot, but I think Medlen is still in play because of the way he has been pitching. In Play
Batter Grind Down
- This game should be a very low scoring game without much offensive fireworks. Save your salary for a more enticing matchup.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.0
- Favored Team – CWS -166
Pitcher Grind Down
CWS – Chris Sale is my favorite pitcher of the day. The Mets have been better on offense lately, but Sale is a beast at home. This season he has a 2.13 ERA and a 0.820 WHIP at home. I’m calling for 7 strong innings and 8+ K’s. Throw a win in there as well. Target
NYM – Ryan Wheeler looked good in his debut but he also pitched his way out of some trouble quite a few times. The White Sox aren’t the best offense, but they have been on a roll lately. If Wheeler is really cheap he is in play, but if he is in the middle tier, I would avoid. In Play
