What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – MIL -128
Pitcher Grind Down
MIL – Kyle Lohse is my favorite value pitcher of the day. He has only allowed one earned in each of his last 3 starts and is looking like the solid pitcher that he has been over the last few years. I love the matchup against the Cubs. Target
CHC – Edwin Jackson is a high risk, high reward type pitcher. His K rate is very good at 9 K’s per 9 innings, but his ERA and WHIP are both high and he often struggles to get run support. Today’s matchup against the Brewers isn’t a terrible one with Braun out, but too risky for me. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
MIL – Aramis Ramirez and Jonathan Lucroy both have had success against Jackson in the past and have decent upside tonight. Jackson is a guy that can blow up and give up a bunch of runs so a Brewers bat or two isn’t a bad idea.
CHC – I’m not too sold on the Cubs offense today, but Anthony Rizzo is great against righties and the fact that Lohse doesn’t strike out a ton of batters doesn’t hurt his value. Also, for BvP fans, Soriano is 20/53 with 4 HR’s.

CIN vs L | CIN BvP | OAK vs R | OAK BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – OAK – 143
Pitcher Grind Down
OAK – Tommy Milone is always in play at home. 2.48 ERA and a 1.080 WHIP at home will give you that privilege. The fact that three of the best bats on the Reds are lefties doesn’t hurt either. Expect Milone to pitch well, I think he is a top 5 option tonight. Target
CIN – Bronson Arroyo has pitched well this season, but I don’t love taking pitchers against this hot A’s team. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
OAK – The A’s are a tough team to predict on an individual basis, so I typically like to stay away from them, but I do like the matchup for John Jaso.
CIN – Like I said, Votto, Choo, and Bruce are all lefties and the lefty/lefty matchup isn’t exactly something that you should be targeting. If you are going to take anyone, take a look at Todd Frazier.

PHI vs R | PHI BvP | SDP vs R | SDP BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – SD -117
Pitcher Grind Down
SD – Jason Marquis should be avoided on sites that only allow one pitcher, but on multiple pitcher sites, he doesn’t make a bad option. His WHIP would suggest a higher ERA, but he has managed to keep his ERA down and he has a decent matchup against the Phillies. In Play
PHI – The Padres have been much better offensively and even managed to score 4 runs against Cliff Lee and company last night. I think Kyle Kendrick will underwhelm. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
SD – Kyle Blanks is much better against lefties, but he is swinging a hot bat and has a decent matchup. I also like the value of Chase Headley, very cheap 3B with some pop.
PHI – If you are going to take any Phillies tonight, it should be one of their powerful lefties in Ryan Howard and Domonic Brown.

PIT vs L | PIT BvP | SEA vs L | SEA BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.0
- Favored Team – PIT -115
Pitcher Grind Down
SEA – Joe Saunders has been the tale of two tapes this season. At home, he looks like a pretty good pitcher with a 2.53 ERA and a 1.080 WHIP. Not sure if those numbers will hold up over the long run, but hey he is pitching well at home and faces an average offense. In Play
PIT – I still have a tough time believing in Jeff Locke, yet he continues to pitch well in basically every start. The Mariners have really struggled to score runs lately so if there was ever a time to pull the trigger on Locke, tonight is the night. In Play
Batter Grind Down
SEA – Don’t love any of the batters, but Jason Bay is good against lefties and Nick Franklin has been swinging a hot bat.
PIT – Andrew McCutchen crushes lefties and can also steal bases. If Saunders pitches like the Saunders on the road, Cutch could be in for a big night.

SFG vs R | SFG BvP | LAD vs L | LAD BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – LAD – 127
Pitcher Grind Down
LAD – Stephen Fife has been giving up a lot of hits, but has managed to keep his ERA down. I think it’s only a matter of time before that good luck catches up with him. The Giants are a tough hitting team from top to bottom. Vegas likes the Dodgers, but I’m a bit skeptical. In Play
SF – Mike Kickham didn’t look great in his first start and is not expected to be a great pitcher. Great spot for the Dodgers bats, not so much for Kickham. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
LAD – Gotta love Yasiel Puig and the Dodgers bats tonight. Adrian Gonzlaez, Hanley Ramirez, and Andre Ethier are all in play as well.
SF – I think both offenses could be in for a nice night. Fife has been giving up a lot of hits. Marco Scutaro should be good for a couple of hits and I think Buster Posey should get up to bat with runners on base and have plenty of chances for RBI’s.
