NBA Player Props – Knicks vs. Heat, May 10, 2023
- Bam Adebayo o8.5 rebounds
- Julius Randle o8.5 rebounds
- RJ Barrett less than 20.0 points
Bam Adebayo o8.5 rebounds (-102), FanDuel
We cashed this ticket easily in Game 4, so we are running it back for Game 5 with largely the same analysis. Simply, there is little reason for this market number to be as low as it is as of this writing. Entering play on Wednesday evening, Bam Adebayo has eclipsed this market number in five of his nine postseason games this year, with only one game of fewer than eight rebounds. The Miami Heat do not have much size on their roster, which leaves Adebayo the player primarily responsible for fighting for rebounds – evident by his 15.8 rebound chances per game during these playoffs. Take the over again.
Julius Randle o8.5 rebounds (-145), DraftKings
In three games played to begin this series, Julius Randle is 3-for-3 to the over at this market number. In Game 2, he secured a dozen rebounds, 14 rebounds in Game 3, and another nine rebounds in Game 4. In this series, he is averaging a team-leading 18.3 rebound chances per game, which is nearly six more opportunities per contest than Mitchell Robinson. The Miami Heat continue to be extremely thin in the frontcourt when it comes to rebounding, which gives Randle a significant edge in this area of the game. On Monday, Randle was an efficient 8-for-13 from the floor, which should create an opportunity for him to play close to 40 minutes again on Wednesday.
NBA DFS Pick’em
RJ Barrett less than 20.0 points, PrizePicks
R.J. Barrett has eclipsed this market number in five of his last six trips to the hardwood. Still, it is difficult to see him sustaining this production level with Julius Randle back on the floor and playing close to 40 minutes per game. Barrett scored 24 points in Game 4, but the New York Knicks lost, putting them on the brink of elimination ahead of tip-off tonight. Barrett has also been knocking down an abundance of shots from the perimeter, which seems unsustainable given his 31.0% shooting from beyond the arc during the regular season. There is negative regression coming sooner rather than later.
