NBA Player Props – Timberwolves vs. Lakers, April 11, 2023
- LeBron James o28.5 points
- Karl-Anthony Towns o38.5 points + rebounds + assists
- Anthony Edwards more than 4.0 assists
LeBron James o28.5 points (-117), Caesars
Similar to many stars, LeBron James shines brightest from April to May each year during the NBA postseason. In his career, James is averaging 27.2 points on 19.7 field goal attempts during the regular season, compared to 28.7 points on 20.7 field goal attempts per game during the playoffs. Tonight, James will get to play a Minnesota Timberwolves defense that will be missing Rudy Gobert, due to a team-initiated suspension. According to Cleaning the Glass, the Timberwolves ranked in only the 33rd percentile in defensive efficiency this season when Gobert was not on the floor. Expect James to be aggressive this evening – take the over.
Karl-Anthony Towns o38.5 points + rebounds + assists (-115), BetMGM
Karl-Anthony Towns played in only two games this season with Rudy Gobert out of the lineup, but he was plenty productive in both contests. Against the Houston Rockets on November 5, Towns had 40 points + rebounds + assists (PRA) in 30 minutes. Two days later against the New York Knicks, Towns posted 45 PRA in 38 minutes of action on only 12 shot attempts. Down the stretch of the regular season, opposing centers found success against the Los Angeles Lakers, with seven out of 12 players eclipsing their PRA market number. Notably, Nikola Vucevic had 47 PRA relative to a market number of 31.5. Towns should be heavily involved in the game plan tonight – trust him to get the job done.
NBA DFS Pick’em
Anthony Edwards more than 4.0 assists, PrizePicks
According to props.cash, Anthony Edwards recorded at least four assists in 46 of 79 games played this year, including 17 of his final 30 regular season contests. Across the final month of the regular season, the Los Angeles Lakers ranked eighth in opponent assists allowed per game, but they still had games in which they were less than stingy. During the final few weeks of the year, Russell Westbrook, Norman Powell, Kris Dunn, Talen Horton-Tucker, Jalen Green, Mike Conley, and DeMar DeRozan each dished out at least four assists against Los Angeles. Expect Edwards to have heavy usage in this contest, which should lead to a fair number of assists.
