NBA Player Props, February 6, 2023

Harrison Barnes o15.5 points (-115), FanDuel

Harrison Barnes scored only seven points on three shot attempts in yesterday’s 32-point loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Understandably, Barnes’ market number has been lowered for Monday’s slate as a result. Though recency bias is likely to scare away the vast majority of bettors in this spot, there is undeniable value with the line this low, assuming De’Aaron Fox is out once again. Following yesterday’s loss, head coach Mike Brown questioned if his team is “all in,” which is only likely to further incentivize his group heading into the new week.

Per CourtIQ, Barnes is averaging 19.2 points per 36 minutes of action this year with Fox off of the floor. Tonight, he gets a matchup against a Houston Rockets team that ranks 28th in defensive efficiency, 21st in opponent three-point percentage, and 23rd in opponent free-throw attempts per game. Expect a bounce-back performance from him.

DeMar DeRozan o25.5 points (-120), MGM

According to EdgHouse, DeMar DeRozan has eclipsed this market number in 28 of 49 games this season, including 10 of 16 home games since November 18. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against a San Antonio Spurs team that ranks 30th in defensive efficiency, 30th in opponent field goal percentage, 30th in opponent three-point percentage, and 14th in opponent free-throw attempts per game across the last month of action. Further supporting this play, DeRozan seems to take these matchups against San Antonio personally – scoring 26 points or more in six of his last seven games against the organization. Take the over here.

Jordan Poole o4.5 assists (-115), FanDuel

Earlier this season, Stephen Curry had an extended absence spanning from December 15 to January 9. During that stretch, Jordan Poole averaged 4.6 assists and 9.1 potential assists in seven home games. According to props.cash, he cleared this market number in five of those seven contests, and has recorded at least five assists in eight of his last 10 home games with Curry off of the floor. Further supporting this play, Poole is averaging 5.1 assists per 36 minutes of action this year with Curry on the sidelines. Tonight, Poole gets a somewhat favorable matchup against an Oklahoma City Thunder defense that ranks 16th in opponent assists per game across the last 30 days. The margins are not extremely large here, but this is a worthwhile risk for bettors.
