Best NBA Player Prop Bets for Thursday, January 19

What kind of performances can we expect on Thursday from Scottie Barnes, Josh Hart, and Anthony Edwards? Follow along as our NBA betting expert, Nick Galaida, breaks down his three favorite NBA prop bets for January 19 on the hardwood
Thursday’s NBA slate begins at 3:00 p.m. EST with a matchup between the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons in Paris, followed by four games in the evening. Despite a light schedule, bettors will have plenty of opportunity to attack the player prop market, with stars such as Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum, and Joel Embiid in action – not to mention some of the best supporting casts in the league.
On Tuesday, we had the good kind of sweep in this article, but followed it up with the bad kind of sweep on Wednesday – getting hooked on two of our three recommendations! Still, we are above .500 across the last 20 days, with a 30-28-2. We also went 4-0 last night on our game preview free plays, including two plus-money cashes. Tonight, we will look to get back on track with the player props article – below are three spots we are targeting on January 19.

NBA Player Props, January 19, 2023
- Scottie Barnes o7.5 rebounds
- Josh Hart o6.5 rebounds
- Anthony Edwards o2.5 three-pointers made
Scottie Barnes o7.5 rebounds (-104), FanDuel
Since December 23, Scottie Barnes has been on a mission on the glass, averaging 8.3 rebounds and 15.6 rebound chances per game – both of which lead the Toronto Raptors. On Thursday, he gets a favorable matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a team that will be on the second-half of a back-to-back set after losing to the Denver Nuggets last night. Minnesota will continue to be without Karl-Anthony Towns, who is rehabbing a right calf strain. They could also be without Rudy Gobert, who missed yesterday’s affair with right groin soreness. Since Towns last played on November 28, the Timberwolves rank 27th in rebound percentage and 22nd in opponent rebounds per game. This is a good spot to invest in Barnes on the glass.
Josh Hart o6.5 rebounds (-140), PointsBet
Per props.cash, Josh Hart has eclipsed this market number in 30 of 42 games played this season, including five of seven contests since January 6. In that span, he is averaging 8.6 rebounds and 11.9 rebound chances per game – both of which are second on the team to Jusuf Nurkic during that stretch. The Philadelphia 76ers rank 13th in the NBA this year in three-point attempts per game, meaning that there is likely to be a healthy number of long rebound chances for Hart this evening. Take the over and live with the result in this spot.
Anthony Edwards o2.5 three-pointers made (+120), DraftKings
Asked last night by Dane Moore if this was the most upset he’s been after a loss, Anthony Edwards responded, “Hell yeah. I’m mad. I’m mad as hell we lost, because I played bad. I coulda helped us, for sure.” Tonight, Edwards gets an opportunity to make amends against a Toronto Raptors defense that has been among the worst in the league against guards in recent weeks. According to props.cash, 20 of the 28 guards who have had a points prop released against the Raptors since January 4 have hit the over. In that span, Toronto ranks 11th in overall defensive efficiency, but 25th in opponent three-point percentage and 22nd in opponent free-throw percentage. Edwards has cleared this market number on his three-pointers in each of the last four games played on zero days rest. Factor in that this is a great matchup and the fact that he is clearly motivated after yesterday’s loss, and this is an extremely worthwhile wager for bettors.
