On Tuesday, the NBA injury report is littered with big names, including Paul George, Luka Doncic, Chris Paul, Deandre Ayton, Devin Booker, Bam Adebayo, Kyle Lowry, Tyler Herro, and Bojan Bogdanovic. Though these absences can make it extremely difficult for bettors to wager on sides and totals, they tend to create a significant amount of value on the player prop market.

Yesterday, we experienced our second consecutive 1-2 day in this article, but we are still 21-12-1 across the last 12 days overall. Below, we have three plays worth considering for tonight’s seven-game NBA slate.

NBA Player Props, January 10, 2023

Jordan Clarkson u20.5 points (-105)

On the season, Jordan Clarkson is averaging 20.4 points per game. However, his volume has been down considerably during the early portion of January, compared to the last few months. In November, Clarkson averaged 17.3 shot attempts per game, which held consistent in December – during which he averaged 17.1 shot attempts per game. In four games since the calendar flipped to 2023, Clarkson is averaging only 14.8 field goal attempts, and has attempted 14 shots or fewer in back-to-back contests. Simply, his volume is not high enough at the moment to justify a market number above 20 points.

H3. Jusuf Nurkic u11.5 rebounds (-115)

The market appears to be overreacting to Jusuf Nurkic recording 18-plus rebounds in back-to-back games. Prior to his last two impressive performances, Nurkic went under this number in seven of eight games, including six games of fewer than eight rebounds. The Orlando Magic have not won a lot of basketball games this season, but they still rank 11th in rebound percentage out of 30 teams. Comparatively, Nurkic’s last two opponents – the Toronto Raptors and Indiana Pacers – each rank 20th or worse in this metric during the first half of the campaign. This line is simply too high on Tuesday, take the under.

Isaiah Stewart to record a double double (+125)

Isaiah Stewart is fresh off of a 20 point, 13 rebound performance against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, and is averaging 13.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game to begin the month of January. Tonight, the Detroit Pistons have ruled out “(player-popup #marvin-bagley-iii)Marvin Bagley III, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Jalen Duran. The primary risk here is that Joel Embiid is expected to return to the floor this evening after taking part in shootaround this morning. Last time Stewart played Embiid, he found himself in foul trouble throughout the entire game, finishing with only six points and five rebounds in 22 minutes of action. Still, at plus-money, this is worth a small stab for bettors.
