Wednesday’s NBA slate features 10 games, beginning with the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic at 7:00 p.m. EST. A heavy slate of action also means a long list of players on the league’s injury report – including Joel Embiid, De’Andre Hunter, Rudy Gobert, O.G. Anunoby, and Jabari Smith – each of whom is listed as questionable as of this writing.

On Tuesday, we had our fourth consecutive day of profit with our recommendations in this article, bringing our record to 41-35-2 across the last 26 days. Below, we have three plays worth considering for January 25 on the hardwood.

NBA Player Props, January 25, 2023

Trae Young o25.5 points (-125), MGM

Prior to December 15, Trae Young was shooting 40.8% from the floor and 28.5% from beyond-the-arc, per Kevin Chouninard. Since that point, Young is averaging 27.2 points on 45.3% shooting from the floor, including 36.4% from deep. Tonight, he draws an ostensibly difficult matchup against an Oklahoma City Thunder team that ranks fifth in the NBA in defensive efficiency across their last four games. Yet, in the last month, the Thunder rank 29th out of 30 teams in opponent free-throw attempts per game. Facing a defense that struggles mightily to keep their opponents off of the charity stripe, should be able to offset any potential inefficiency from the floor with a high-volume night at the free-throw line.

Seth Curry o12.5 points (+100), FanDuel

On Sunday, we were hooked at this number, with Seth Curry totaling 12 points on only seven shot attempts against the Golden State Warriors. Nevertheless, we are going back to the well again this evening on this prop. Since Kevin Durant last played on January 8, Curry is averaging 14.7 points on 50.8% from shooting from the floor and 37.5% from beyond-the-arc. In that span, he has cleared this number three times, with no games of fewer than 10 points – meaning that he has been competitive at this market number every time he has touched the floor. Tonight, he gets a matchup against his old team, the Philadelphia 76ers, which rank 14th in opponent three-point attempts and 10th in opponent three-point percentage at home this season. This is far from an easy matchup, but Curry’s volume in this spot is likely to give him an opportunity to cash this ticket for bettors.

Keldon Johnson o22.5 points (-113), FanDuel

Keldon Johnson has gone from an “automatic play” with Devin Vassell on the sidelines to a “strongly consider” every time Vassell is out. Last Friday, we were hooked on his points prop when he scored 23 points against a market number of over/under 23.5. Two days ago, Johnson scored only 20 points on 15 shot attempts, playing off of the ball far more than anticipated in the first half. Tonight, the market has brought his number down low enough that we are willing to bite once again. Per CourtIQ, Johnson is still averaging 26.0 points per 36 minutes of action this year when Vassell is on the sidelines. According to props.cash, Vassell has still managed to eclipse this market in 10 of 15 games played without Vassell this season – take the over here and live with the result.
