NBA Player Props, March 1, 2023

C.J. McCollum o5.5 assists (-130), DraftKings

Since January 25, C.J. McCollum has eclipsed this market number in 7-of-11 games played with Brandon Ingram in the lineup. In that span, he has only recorded fewer than five assists in a game once – proving that he is extremely competitive at this spot each time he takes the floor. In those 11 games, McCollum has faced seven teams that rank 13th or worse in opponent assists per game since January 25. In those seven contests, he is 6-for-7 to the over, with his lone miss being a 5-assists performance against the Toronto Raptors. Tonight, McCollum gets a date with a Portland Trail Blazers team that ranks 30th in defensive efficiency and 29th in opponent assists across their last 14 games – take the over here.

Nikola Vucevic 12+ rebounds (-150), FanDuel

Last night, Nikola Vucevic had only five rebounds against the Toronto Raptors, which was his third-worst rebounding performance of the season. After recording only four rebounds on October 22, he responded with 23 rebounds in his next trip to the floor. Following a game with only five rebounds on October 28, he had 19 rebounds against the Philadelphia 76ers the following night. There have been four total instances this year in which Vucevic has recorded five rebounds or fewer in a game, and he has never fallen short of this market number in his subsequent contest. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against a Detroit Pistons team that ranked 23rd in rebound percentage and 21st in opponent rebounds per game during the month of February. Expect a bounce-back performance from Vucevic on Wednesday.

Dennis Schroder o7.5 assists (-105), DraftKings

In his first game played with LeBron James and D’Angelo Russell both out of the lineup following the trade deadline, Dennis Schroder had 10 assists on 24 potential assists against the Memphis Grizzlies. Importantly, no other member of the Los Angeles Lakers had more than nine potential assists in that contest, making it unambiguous who the team’s primary facilitator is with James and Russell in street clothes. Tonight, Schroder gets a favorable matchup against an Oklahoma City Thunder defense that finished the month of February ranked 27th in opponent assists per game. The volume should be there for him tonight – we will simply need his teammates to knock down enough shots for the over to cash. This is a worthwhile risk for bettors.
