Broncos vs. Seahawks Player Props
- Geno Smith u209.5 passing yards
- Melvin Gordon III o35.5 rushing yards
- Courtland Sutton o60.5 receiving yards
Geno Smith u209.5 passing yards (-115)
In four games during the 2021 season, Geno Smith totaled 131 passing yards against the Los Angeles Rams, 209 passing yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers, 167 passing yards against the New Orleans Saints, and 195 passing yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars. On Monday, Smith will be facing one of the most talented secondary units in the entire league, with Ronald Darby and Pat Surtain II lining up against his two best wide receivers. It does not help matters that the Seahawks are starting two rookies at the tackle positions and three underwhelming talents at each of the interior spots on the offensive line. It would be surprising to see Smith have much success in this matchup – take the under.
Melvin Gordon III o35.5 rushing yards (-110)
Last fall, Melvin Gordon III and Javonte Williams each received exactly 203 carries, with Gordon III tallying 918 rushing yards and Williams totaling 903 yards on the ground. When asked if he had decided on a rotation split for his backfield heading into 2022, Head Coach Nathaniel Hackett said “I’ve always been a true believer in you always want to roll with the hot hand. One guy gets going, and you want to be sure you keeping feeding that person. I think they’re going to be great complements to each other,” according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. The comments suggest that both players will see the field on Monday, with both running backs having an opportunity to stay on the field if they have success. Gordon’s market number is over 20 yards lower than Williams. Expect Gordon III to see at least some work in this contest, if not the most work – take his over against an extremely weak Seattle run defense.
Courtland Sutton o60.5 receiving yards (-115)
Investing in any of Denver’s offensive players on Monday comes with risk, considering that this revamped group played minimally together during the preseason, with some members never seeing a single snap. Still, someone is going to have to catch passes, and it’s not as though these players have never stepped on a field before. Courtland Sutton should see plenty of snaps lined up against rookie Tariq Woolen in this game, who was selected in the fifth-round this past summer out of UTSA. Woolen was a wide receiver during his early collegiate career, and only started playing defense in 2019. Though Woolen has high upside as a prospect, he is far from a finished product, and thus, should be good for at least one or two costly mistakes in his NFL debut.
