DFS Tournament Report: NFL Week 13
It was a battle of place kickers until the very end of the game when two late TD’s were scored. Those TD’s had little impact on any of the big GPP’s as huge scores were put up on Sunday making it difficult to come back. However, one GPP did see a back and forth finish with Dan Bailey game winning field goal being the difference maker. Another player had a win and two third place finishes on FanDuel allowing him to take home a whopping $185,000 in winnings. Here’s a brief review of the night’s action, the winning line ups, and who took down some of the last live final seats.
DraftKings $4M Millionaire Maker ($20 entry)
1DontTryThisAtHome1 tried this at home and as a result is the latest DFS millionaire. His recipe for success was stacking Pittsburgh Steelers (Roethlisberger, Williams, Brown, Bryant, and the Steelers D) and filling in the blanks with big days from the likes of Buck Allen and Allen Robinson. Cwebb30 had the Redskins defense and was the only player with a legitimate shot at winning but late scores from the Cowboys dashed those dreams and he would have to settle for fourth place and $60,000.

Deametus went a bit more conventional with his lineup as he only had three Steelers (Roethlisberger, Williams, and Brown) on his way to taking home the $100,000 first place prize. Brandon Marshall and the Broncos defense were big difference makers for him as he edged out the Milly Maker winner by 2.2 points. Robfeld with DeSean Jackson made a late push and was one of those hoping for overtime so he could get some more points. The Bailey FG ended those dreams and he finished in fourth.

DraftKings FFWC Live Final Qualifier Winners
Rayofhope and aejones led the list of winners taking down seats with just one more weekend left to qualify for the FFWC Live Final in San Diego.

Who would have ever thought that a battle of place kickers would lead to a thrilling finish in one of the industry’s biggest GPP’s. That’s precisely what happened as trigga1982 and his lineup including Dustin Hopkins would hold the lead until the very last play of the game when okieboy211 and his lineup including Dan Bailey would take the lead on the strength of Bailey’s 54 yard game-winning kick.

Gonzalezr84 had a sizable lead heading into the evening and only doworkson77 and Dustin Hopkins were able to mount any kind of a threat. Doworkson77 still ended up a little more than four points from the top spot to give Gonzalezr84 the win and the $100,000 that came with the victory.

It was a huge weekend for optimusprimeiam who finished third in both the Sunday Million and NFL Rush GPP’s for $85,000 total in prize winnings. He would add another $100,000 to that total with an easy win in the Monster as he won by more than 12 points with a lineup that included huge performances from Cam Newton, Buck Allen, Allen Robinson, and Antonio Brown.
