DFS Tournament Report: NFL Week 6
The Coors Field of the NFL lived up to it’s billing as the Panthers and the Saints put up nearly 80 points but it wasn’t the only high-scoring game of the day as there were seven games on the slate that had 50 or more points scored including 59 in the Rams-Lions game which would contain some key pieces to a huge day from Mallen21 as he would take five of the top 10 spots in the DraftKings Millionaire (including the top spot) as well as winning the DraftKings Wildcat with three players from that game (Matthew Stafford, Golden Tate, and Kenny Britt) as cores of his lineups. Britt and Tate were huge difference makers as the two WRs put up nearly 70 fpts and both were under 5% ownership.
Here’s a quick review of all the big GPPs from Sunday and the winning lineups.
DraftKings NFL $4.44M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st]
Despite the huge performance from the Lions-Rams game, mallen21 was on the outside looking in heading into the Sunday Night game as marioncobretti looked to be in excellent shape. However, mallen’s core included Lamar Miller, who would put up a monster 35.8 fpts in the nightcap to move him to the top of the leader board and a slew of other lineups into the top 10.
DraftKings NFL $1.5M Wildcat Special
Mallen’s winning lineup in the Wildcat wasn’t as high scoring as his Millionaire lineup as it didn’t have LeSean McCoy in it, but it was still good enough to edge out top DFS player SamENole for the top spot. It was a star-studded top 10 as reigning TPOY ehafner would finish in 4th, JumpaHoo would take 8th, and youdacao (more on him later) would finish in 9th.
DraftKings NFL $1.4M Play-Action
Mttp123 would take an unconventional lineup to the top of the Play-Action on Sunday with a Tom Brady-Rob Gronkowski stack paired with players from six different games. When those players include LeSean McCoy, Lamar Miller, Kenny Britt, Cole Beasley (23.8 fpts), and Odell Beckham (44.2 fpts) though it’s easy to see why they cruised to a nearly four point win.
DraftKings NFL $550K Slant
Wining247 would take third in the aforementioned Play-Action but would utilize that same lineup to win the Slant. He would be one of the few players in the industry to have the monster Jay Ajayi 36.7 fpt game in their lineup (at .3% ownership) and that would be a huge difference maker for his Brees-Cooks-Greg Olsen game stack. Wining247 is a top-ranked Grinder (#105 in TPOY race) and is sure to move up after a big weekend.
FanDuel $1.6M Sunday Million ($300K to 1st)
There wasn’t much difference between the lineup of dago3 and oaktownsj in the FanDuel Sunday Million this week. They had seven of the same players including Brees, Cooks, McCoy, Miller, Beckham, and Fleener. It would be the two worst performers for each team that would determine the winner as the 11.3 points dago3 got from Breshad Perriman and the Packers defense was just enough to edge the 10.1 oaktownsj would get from Chris Conley and the Bills defense.
FanDuel $1M Sling TV Rush ($100K to 1st)
Melissacheske put together a great lineup on the way to winning the $100,000 first-place prize money in the $1M Rush. She had all the pieces found in most of the winning lineups today including Brees, McCoy, Miller, Fleener, and Beckham. Add in a little Golden Tate and you have a winner.
FanDuel $650K Monster ($100K to 1st)
Booourns, aka youdacao, had a great day in the FanDuel Monster as he would finish with four of the top ten lineups including three of the top six and the winning lineup. He would beat out a great field as magicsportsguy would take 2nd, toetaggintambo finished 4th, and 2014 TPOY mcjester 8th. His winning lineup didn’t have LeSean McCoy (had a lower-priced Giovani Bernard) but he more than made up for that with a Brees-Cooks-Fleener stack coupled with Lamar Miller and Odell Beckham.
