DraftKings is back with another high-stakes online sports betting contest. This year it’s the DraftKings 2020 Sports Betting Spring Championship (SBSC), taking place in Weehawken, New Jersey during the first week of the 2020 NCAA Tournament (March 19-22, 2020). With $1.5 million in guaranteed prizes on the line, contestants can buy in for $5,000 as they compete for the first-place prize of $500,000, making for an exciting start to March Madness betting.

Changes from 2019 SBNC

Unlike DraftKings’ first-ever Sports Betting National Championship in 2019, the 2020 Sports Betting Spring Championship will not involve any NFL betting. While the main attraction will be NCAA basketball betting, contestants can add NBA betting picks throughout the four-day competition as they try to grow their starting bankroll of $2,000, but wagering will be limited to NBA and college basketball only. Unfortunately, this means no PGA golf betting for you golf bettors out there.

As mentioned above, bettors will start with $2,000 of their own, while $2800 of the $5,000 buy-in will go towards the prize pool, and $200 is taken out as an administration fee.

Like last year, contestants do not have to show up to Weehawken, New Jersey to compete, but they do have to be in the Garden State to have access to DraftKings online sportsbook in New Jersey. If you do make the trip to Weehawken, you can watch the games at DraftKings VIP Sportsbook Venue.

Betting will begin Thursday morning, March 19, 2020 at 10 a.m. ET, and bets will be accepted for the contest until 7:29:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

All contestants will keep their bankroll at the conclusion of the 2020 Sports Betting Spring Championship, but only the top 25 finishers will walk away with additional prizes. Contestants are limited to one entry each. Here’s a full look at DraftKings SBSC payouts with a field size of up to 535 contestants:
