Finding Paydirt: Week 10 Results

Happy Tuesday, Grinders! My results in this contest went about as well as the results of all of my cash games on Sunday — poorly. Finishing up my second week in a row with zero touchdowns has me reeling. I will hopefully right the ship in Week 11 but must reflect on Week 10 first. Despite my woes, I am here for a leaderboard update and some Week 11 takeaways. That is commitment! Let’s get to it.

The leaderboard did not experience much action but when it did… oh boy. Christian Kirk was picked by a few and went off for three touchdowns. A few members benefited from Golden Tate and Derrick Henry scoring two touchdowns — namely schmidtty88 and SportsLover37 who both collected four touchdowns each. The big week put both squarely in the mix for our next T-shirt with two weeks to play.
Meanwhile, 1010mg keeps collecting touchdowns like they are going out of style. Another three touchdowns vaulted 1010mg up this month’s leaderboard to the top and extended his overall lead to six touchdowns. At this point, if nothing changes soon this could be a runaway. Let’s get to some takeaways from Week 10.
Week 10 Takeaways
What happened to New Orleans against Atlanta? If there was ever proof that bankroll management was vital to long-term success as a DFS player, that New Orleans performance was a prime example. With many players featured in cash games, many lineups went bust including mine. Ouch.
Speaking of chalk busting, how bad is David Montgomery? After reflecting on the slate, the positives, the mistakes, I cannot help but think that David Montgomery was not a mistake at his price tag on DraftKings. Instead, the majority had to deal with a bit of misfortune. Mitch Trubisky with three touchdowns. Who knew?
*I don’t remember the last time a prime time game kept me awake for the conclusion. Last night’s game between Seattle and San Francisco was excellent with so much back and forth at the end that I literally was on the edge of my couch. I cannot believe that San Francisco was a missed kick away from a huge victory but obviously these two teams will be battling for this division down the stretch. While San Francisco’s offense lacks a bit of gusto, that defense is remarkable. It should be a fun final stretch.
Colin Kaepernick is getting a tryout or showcase of sorts… Put all of our beliefs aside. At this point, why is he even a consideration? How could he be prepared to have been away from the game for as long as he has been? I will not debate whether his absence from football was right or wrong. Instead, rationally speaking, how could he help a team now?
Thanks for reading. Come back each Friday and Tuesday to play along with the community and react to my weekly takeaways.
