What kind of performances can we expect on Thursday Night Football from Trevor Lawrence, Garrett Wilson, and Carl Lawson? Follow along as our NFL betting expert, Nick Galaida, breaks down his three favorite NFL prop bets for the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New York Jets

The Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets will open Week 16 of the NFL regular season on Thursday Night Football evening at MetLife Stadium in a battle between two teams that are looking to keep their postseason hopes alive. In offense-adverse weather conditions, oddsmakers are expecting a tightly-contested affair, pricing the Jets as 2.5-point home favorites on the spread. Given the environmental factors, bettors may be hesitant to invest heavily in a side or total in this spot. Instead of forcing action on the major markets for this game, bettors could find more expected value on player props for this prime time matchup.

Jaguars vs. Jets Player Props

Trevor Lawrence u210.5 passing yards (-120)

Trevor Lawrence has been playing exceptional football of late, with a 14-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio across his last six games. However, there are reasons to believe that this run of success will experience turbulence in Week 16. On the season, Lawrence has only a 4-to-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio when under pressure compared to a 20-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio when kept clean in the pocket, per Pro Football Focus. On the season, the New York Jets rank 8th in the NFL in sacks per pass attempt, and tonight will return their top pass-rusher, Quinnen Williams, to the field. Pass-adverse weather coupled with New York’s ability to put Lawrence in uncomfortable situations this evening could lead to a frustrating performance for Lawrence.

Garrett Wilson o50.5 receiving yards (-125)

In “(player-popup #zach-wilson)Zach Wilson”:/players/zach-wilson-2861838’s return to the field last weekend, Garrett Wilson hauled-in nine catches for 98 receiving yards. Though Garrett Wilson has a slightly less favorable matchup in Week 16, he is still likely to be his quarterback’s favorite option in the passing game on Thursday Night Football. Jacksonville’s top cornerback, Tyson Campbell has played nearly every single one of his snaps in 2022 out-wide, which means that he is likely to see more snaps lined up across from Corey Davis than anyone else. Bettors should expect Garrett Wilson to be moved around the field tonight, lining-up both in the slot and out-wide, which should free him up for at least a few catches in this spot. If he can force one or two missed tackles against a weak Jaguars’ secondary unit, he should have a good opportunity to hit the over on his receiving yards here.

Carl Lawson to record a sack (+200)

In 14 games this fall, Carl Lawson has six sacks, which ranks second only to Quinnen Williams on the Jets. Tonight, Lawson will be lining-up across from backup left tackle Walker Little, who is playing in place of Cam Robinson. Last week, Little allowed four quarterback pressures and four quarterback hurries on only 19 pass-blocking snaps. At significant plus-money this is unquestionably worth a stab for bettors who are hoping to profit on a game played in extremely poor weather conditions.
