League of Legends DFS: NA LCS - Sunday

eSports stop for nothing! It may be that day, but the League Championship Series will go on, and so shall we. Sunday’s slate features a few intriguing matches after all five favored teams won yesterday and that opens up the possibilities for DFS today. Let’s get right into it.
Also, inspired by DannieRay23’s article correlating Hearthstone and DFS, I will try to compare each player to a player from today’s Super Bowl. Let me know in the comments if you have your own comparisons!
Odds & Matchups
Immortals (-323) vs. Team Liquid (+252)
Cloud9 (+135) vs. NRG eSports (-165)
Team SoloMid (-352) vs. Renegades (+272)
Counter Logic Gaming (-280) vs. Team Impulse (+222)
Team Dignitas (-160) vs. Echo Fox (+131)
Top
Hauntzer, TSM ($7,200) – Having put together a strong overall season, Hauntzer dropped the ball a number of times Saturday against Echo Fox. SoloMid were able to find the fight they needed deep into the game and were able to use long Fox death timers to knock down the Nexus, little thanks to Hauntzer’s effort. Often out of position on the day, his performance wasn’t what we’ve seen at other times this year. Still, he’s capable of big games and Renegades aren’t going to improve any time soon, if ever.
Super Bowl comparison: C.J. Anderson. Consistent production, please!
Huni, IMT ($7,200) – The former Fnatic player was one of a number of stars imported from around the world to North America for the 2016 season. It’s been a huge hit for Immortals. Huni leads the entire league in CSD@10 with 14.7 and hasn’t even needed a strong KP % to post good numbers. Consistent play and a willingness to stick to his split push when needed make him a strong team player.
Super Bowl comparison: Greg Olsen
Jungle
Kirei, DIG ($6,200) – Scores ranging from negative and into the 30s means Kirei has been consistently inconsistent. A jungler low 62.9% KP is, well, bad. Thankfully for us and Kirei, Echo Fox is worse than bad. Kirei shouldn’t have difficulty finding openings to gain advantages and kills against a team with no coordination. This is an affordable price for a player who takes on a very weak team.
Super Bowl comparison: Ted Ginn
Reignover, IMT ($6,900) – Jungle counterpart Dardoch has been an absolute revelation for Team Liquid, but Immortals has simply been too good. Reignover continued his streak of being wherever he has to be to get First Blood against CLG. His 15.8 KDA is second only to teammate Adrian’s 16.4 Liquid remain underrated and I’ve loved what I’ve seen from them for a few weeks now, but a bump in the road is in order against the appropriately named Immortals.
Super Bowl comparison: Von Miller
Mid
GBM, NRG ($7,400) – Another amazing performance from GBM against Team Impulse was just further confirmation that he not only can play, but dominate. Playing on noted mage assassin Leblanc, GBM did nearly twice as much damage to champions as NRG ADC Altec. He was fearlessly zapping people from existence for the entire duration of the game and ended with a 9/3/5 line. Now having played outside the box champions like Zilean on top of proving to be an expert on assassins, GBM can play a variety of rolls and produce in any of them.
Super Bowl comparison: Demaryius Thomas
Bjergsen, TSM ($8,100) – The best player at his position has been very consistent this season. A bizarre shutout against NRG last week aside, Bjergsen has been over 20 DraftKings points in every other TSM game this season. It’s taken TSM a little longer than expected to truly come together as a team and it’s hurt them at times this season, however, we can’t forget that seven games of League is still a very small sample size. Expect an assassin champion against Renegades(and the assassinations to follow).
Super Bowl comparison: Josh Norman
ADC
WildTurtle, IMT ($8,100) – We received another monster performance from Turtle against CLG as he posted a 7/1/8 KDA. Surely Immortals will lose at some point, but it’s difficult to do anything other than continue to click Turtle into our lineups as long as he keeps this up. Through the first seven games of the NA LCS, WildTurtle’s 43 kills lead all other players by at least 12. Run off of his old team, WildTurtle is proving doubters wrong.
Super Bowl comparison: Peyton Manning
Doublelift, TSM ($8,100) – For anyone who follows League, this is the easiest comparison yet. Doublelift is good and he knows it. His cocky attitude even got him into trouble during his younger years, but he’s dedicated to his craft and is one of the best. While Double’s 20 deaths this season are certainly not a good luck, he does still have strong @10 numbers and as TSM improves, so will his fantasy performances. And, as we know, Renegades is about as easy as they come.
Super Bowl comparison: Cam Newton
Team
The favorite: Dignitas ($4,900) – If you have the money, it’s fair to pay up for TSM, but I’m confident enough in Echo Fox not being good enough right now to beat anyone to take Dignitas.
The upset: Cloud9 ($4.200) – I’m officially on the NRG bandwagon, but C9 has shown something the last two weeks. They’re capable of pulling out a win here.
