MLB Daily Grind Down June 2nd Part 2

The RotoGrinders MLB Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the MLB schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit.
While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy baseball, there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, weather, and salaries. The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. No sport has more variance than baseball. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time. (any fp listed uses Fanduel’s scoring system)

- OU 10
- Favored DET -120
Pitchers
- Home Kevin Gausman was just pounded by WAS. What do you think a DET team that is the second toughest draw in baseball is going to do to him today? DET is batting .261 on the road, .276 versus right-handers, and .236 with 10 HRs over the last 7 days. Avoid
- Away If you have not read my comment on Rick Porcello then her is the link “Grind Down”: /threads/Rick_Porcello-135481 . Porcello looked electric versus Pit last time out but I called DET the second hardest draw in baseball. This BAL team at home is the hardest draw in baseball. I expect numbers more like the 5.0 IP 5 ER with 10 Hits that he put up against MIN than the ones we saw last time he took the hill. BAL is batting .266 at home, .285 versus right-handers, and .300 over the last 7 days with 14 HRs. Avoid
Batters
- Home J.J. Hardy is 4-9 with 1 HR versus Porcello. Nick Markakis is 6-13 with 1 HR as well. Matt Wieters is 4-11 versus him as well. Chris Davis is very hot with 36.5 fp over the last week.
- Away Ladies and Gentlemen start you DET stacks!!!!!!!

Pitchers
- Home In a weird twist of fate, I met Scott Diamond ‘s future brother-in-law at a party. True Story. He was not happy when I showed him the last things I had to say about Mr. Diamond. Honestly, I have a soft spot for guys like this but I am trying to win at Daily Fantasy and you would have to be stupid to take a guy with this little upside even as the favorite. You are so much better serve on gambling on players who get Ks. It is not always the right play but it is the right play way more than it is the wrong play. With so many good arms going today, it would be GPP suicide to take him today. Avoid
- Away Jeremy Bonderman is a borderline MLB player. He is a couple of years away from coaching a high school team. There is absolutely no upside in him today and the only question is how many runs he will give up. Avoid
Batters
- Home Ladies and Gentlemen start your MIN stacks!! The hot left-handed bats pf Ryan Doumit and Joe Mauer are playable either way.
- Away Kendrys Morales has been very hot with 32 fp over the last 7 days. He gets the righty/lefty splits in his favor today. Jason Bay and Jed Lowrie is nice Value plays and hit lefties well.

Las Vegas
- OU 8.5
- Favored STL -155
Pitchers
- Home Tyler Lyons has looked amazing. I do not know what it is about STL’s farm system but they crank out quality starters after quality starters. I would not pay middle tier pricing for him today but if he is still cheap on your sit then consider him playable. SFG is batting .250 on the road, .269 versus left-handers, and .263 over the last 7 days. In Play
- Away Chad Guadin is a reliever making a spot start which makes me think this will be a bullpen game for SFO. I doubt he goes past 4 IP so he is worthless to your daily rosters. STL is batting .274 at home, .285 versus right-handers, and .280 over the last 7 days. Avoid
Batters
- Home That is the funny thing about bullpen games. You never know who is going to pitch so you do not know what matchups to look for. Matt carpenter, Yadier Molina, and Carlos Beltran have been hot but I think all of STL is playable in a GPP.
- Away Andres Torres, Hunter Pence, Pablo Sandoval and Buster Posey are all batting over .300 versus left-handed pitching. Hunter Pence has been hot producing 27.75 fp over the last week

| Note: Batter Splits Above Open in Pop Up Window | |||||||
Las Vegas
- OU 7
- Favored ARI -133
Pitchers
- Home Edwin Jackson has a name. That is about it for him this year. His 6.11 ERA is among the worst in the league amongst starters. He is 1-7 on the season and faces a tough ARI team batting .264 on the road, .271 versus right-handers, and .332 over the last 7 days. Avoid
- Away It is hard to argue with Patrick Corbin ‘s 8-0 recorded, 1.71 ERA and 1.02 WHIP on the year. He is a 1.73 road pitcher and the Cubs are not that strong. CHC is batting .270 at home, .233 versus left-handers, and .244 over the last 7 days. Target
Batters
- Home Alfonsor Soriano is batting .333 versus left-handed pitching. He is also hot producing 26.5 fp over the lat week. Dioner Navarro is also ho and hitting well versus left-handers also if he plays.
- Away Miguel Montero is 4-9 versus Jackson. Jason Kubel is 5-18 with 1 HR. Paul Goldschmidt has been hot with 26.25 fp over the last 7 days and Didi Gregorius is batting over .400 versus right-handed pitching.

KCR BvP | KCR vs R | TEX BvP | TEX vs R | ||||
| Note: Batter Splits Above Open in Pop Up Window | |||||||
Las Vegas
- OU 8.5
- Favored TEX -220
Pitchers
- Home I caught a little flak for calling Yu Darvish as my early pick to win the CY Young Award in the AL. Some people thought it was a homer pick since I am from TEX. Let me educate you people, HOU hates Dallas with the same intensity that BOS hates NYY. It is not on ESPN but it is real. I love San Antonio. They are Great people. DAL could get hit by a F5 Tornado for all I care. When I say the Darvish is pitching out of this world, it is because he is pitching out of this world. He is averaging over 10 Ks a start and KAN is a weak team. KAN is batting .264 on the road, .252 versus right-handers, and .232 over the last 7 days. Target
- Away Ervin Santana has been an okay pitcher also but odds are he does not get the win today. If you are fading Darvish then he is playable because he would have to outpitch Yu for the fade to matter but otherwise it is best to avoid him against a very tough TEX team. Avoid
Batters
- Home Elvis Andrus is 12-37 versus Santana. Mitch Moreland is 5-17 with 1 HR. I like the left-handed bats today.
- Away You are on your own if you chose to play the fade.
