Pitchers
- Home John Gast will be making his first career big league appearance and he has pitched great so far in the minors this season with a 1.16 ERA. I am not a fan of taking a chance on pitchers in their first starts though so I will avoid, even though the matchup is above average. In Play
- Away Dillon Gee has been straight up awful on the road this season. In 3 starts, he has given up 16 earned runs which equates to an ERA over 11. He has only managed to pitch 12 innings in those three starts and should be avoided at all costs against this Cardinals offense. Avoid
Batters
- Home I like the left and right handed bats of the Cardinals today. Gee has been bad on the road and I think the Cardinals score 5+ runs in this one. Check the lineup and get a couple of Cardinals in there. David Freese is dirt cheap across the board so don’t be afraid to take him.
- Away This is one of those scenarios where you can either take a rookie pitcher against a bad offense, take a few offensive players against a rookie pitcher, or avoid the situation altogether because you aren’t sure how it will turn out. I think I’m taking route #3.

Pitchers
- Home Patrick Corbin is off to a blistering start and it’s even more impressive considering half of his starts are in Chase Field which is a hitter’s ball park. Check out these numbers: 5-0 with a 1.75 ERA, a 1.063 WHIP, and an average of 7 K’s per 9. Not too shabby at all. I think he makes a great GPP play against the Braves tonight who often swing and miss. In Play
- Away Julio Teheran hasn’t quite lived up to his lofty expectations yet. He has managed to only allow 2 earned runs per game over his last 3 starts but his WHIP of 1.538 scares me, especially considering where this game is going to be played. Avoid
Batters
- Home Target the left hand bats of the D-Backs today. Teheran is allowing left hand bats to hit .377 with an OPS of 1.081 this season. Miguel Montero seems to be heating up a bit and is a solid play. And I love the matchup for Jason Kubel, I think he homers if he is in the lineup.
- Away Vegas has this game as a pretty close high scoring game even though Corbin has been dominant so far this season. That means they expect the Braves to score some runs. Justin Upton is about the only Brave I would consider though.

Pitchers
- Home Blanton got obliterated by the Royals offense, but I think that speaks more to how bad Blanton has been this season. I think Jason Vargas should have better luck tonight against the Royals even though they hit lefties well. If Vargas can manage to get Billy Butler out, I think he hangs on for a win tonight. In Play
- Away Jeremy Guthrie has had great success against the Angels bats in the past, but I think he struggles a bit tonight. He is a bit overpriced and hasn’t been as good on the road as he has been at home. Avoid
Batters
- Home I keep waiting for the Angels to go on some incredible run with all of that power they have offensively, but they just can’t seem to get it together. Josh Hamilton has 2 HR’s off of Guthrie, but I think I would only play him in GPP’s. Mike Trout keeps on producing though, so expect a solid game out of him.
- Away Billy Butler is 6/13 with 2 HR’s and 2 doubles off of Vargas and is coming off of a monster game last night against the Angels. He is in play, as is Lorenzo Cain and Salvador Perez who both are good against lefties.

Pitchers
- Home Bartolo Colon is one of my least favorite pitchers because you just never know what to expect from him. He is really cheap on a few sites, but I would only take him in large tournaments. He is too risky for 50/50’s and double ups. In Play
- Away Derek Holland is off to a fantastic start this season and I am really surprised that Vegas doesn’t have him favored. Usually when I’m surprised by a Vegas line, Vegas ends up being right though so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him struggle a bit. In Play
Batters
- Home Yoenis Cespedes is 2/6 with 2 HR’s off of Holland and has been really good against lefties this season. Josh Donaldson is another guy to keep your eye on and no one ever takes him, so he could be a good sleeper as he is batting .357 against lefties.
- Away You would think a matchup against Colon would inspire confidence in me to take a bunch of Rangers today, but something about that Vegas line has me thinking twice. The Rangers bats are in play, but don’t overdo it.

Pitchers
- Home Clayton Kershaw only has 1 win in his last 4 starts, but that says more about how bad the Dodgers offense has been than it does about his pitching. I certainly love the matchup today against the Nationals who haven’t been very good on the road offensively though, and if their offense can manage to score a couple of runs, that should be enough for Kershaw to get the win. Target
- Away Dan Haren has been pitching better of late, but that high WHIP still scares me a bit. I’m not a fan of taking underdog pitchers, but if you want to go against the grain in a GPP, maybe take a shot on Haren, because the Dodgers offense has been bad. In Play
Batters
- Home Andre Ethier loves facing Haren. He is 20/47 with 7 XBH’s against him and most of those at bats were against a much better Haren than the one he will likely face tonight. Get Ethier in your lineups.
- Away Just avoid the Nats bats tonight. Simple.
