What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9
- Favored Team – DET -155
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Did you see how great Ivan Nova was against this DET team last night? Well, he still was not able to get the W against them. Phil Hughes is not even close to as good of a pitcher so you can safely avoid his 6.02 ERA and .304 BAA at home today. DET is batting .263 on the road, .282 versus right-handers, and .25 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 2
- Away Anibal Sanchez numbers take a slight dip on the road and he is worse against left-handed batters but the man is dealing posting a 2.53 ERA in June and a 2.15 ERA in July. The OU is high so I would not pay top dollar for him today but he is a must play today versus this slumping NYY team if he is in the upper middle tier range. NYY has scored less runs than CHC, PHI, SDG and HOU since the Allstar Break. NYY is batting .246 at home, .240 versus right-handers, and .224 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 8
Batter Grind Down
- Home When you are talking about a team that has scored less runs then HOU then I am going to treat them like HOU. Brett Gardner and Robinson Cano are the only Yankees worth a look. RG Stack Rating 2
- Away DET owns a .302 BAA as a team versus Hughes. Miguel Cabrera ‘s 12-23 with 4 HR line is playable either way. Tori Hunter and Victor Martinez are also batting over .400 versus him. RG Stack Rating 8

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.5
- Favored Team – TOR -130
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Mark Buerhle home ERA is fantastic at 2.95. Fantastic is the perfect word for it because I think it is a fantasy to believe that he is an ace at home. Vegas agrees with me. They have Buerhle listed as the slight favorite but the OU is a high 9. Oak comes to life on the road. OAK is batting .250 on the road, .239 versus left-handers, and .260 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 4
- Away Sonny Gray is a high K guy and a heck of a prospect but I doubt he pitches past 5 IP today. That is baseball these days. They treat their young players with Kid Gloves, all puns intended. TOR is a tough home team so I would not play him anyway. TOR is batting .264, .255 versus right-handers, and .274 over the last 7 days, RG Start-Ability 1
Batter Grind Down
- Home The kid has been impressive actually. I just do not think he will go long enough to matter so I am not high on TOR either. Jose Buatista, Brett Lawrie and Edwin Encarnacion have been hot for TOR. RG Stack Rating 4
- Away Jed Lowrie had a big day yesterday. He, Nate Freiman, and Josh Donaldson are all batting at high clip versus left-handers. Coco Crisp is 16-52 with 3 HRs versus Buerhle. RG Stack Rating 5

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7
- Favored Team – LAD -145
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Zack Greinke is nails at home with a 2.56 ERA and TAM is a matchup play to me on offense. You either take them versus a left-hander or against a bad pitcher. They completely disappear against a quality right-hander more often than not. The low OU and line says it all. TAM is batting .263 on the road, .251 versus right-handers, and .284 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 9
- Away Roberto Hernandez is awful on the road with a 5.71 ERA. He is allowing left-handers to bat .296 against him and he has seen his K/9 totals dwindle every month that he has pitched in the season. LAD is hot. They are batting .257 at home, .269 versus right-handers, and .281 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 4
Batter Grind Down
- Home Adrian Gonzalez, Andre Either, and Carl Crawford are your best bets. Nick Punto and Juan Uribe have solid BvPs versus Hernandez if they play. RG Stack Rating 5
- Away Wil Myers and James Loney are batting over .300 versus right-handers. Myers has been TAM hottest player. Matt Joyce is 6-15 with 1 HR versus Greinke. RG Stack Rating 1

What Vegas Says

Pitcher Grind Down
- Home It is that time of the year when you start to see pitchers that you have never even heard of before today. This will be Andre Rienzo 3rd start and I do not think until today that he has been on your radar. Rienzo first 2 starts were against CLE and DET on the road and they were successful. Today, he gets the much easier matchup of the Twins. MIN is batting .229 on the road, .238 versus right-handers, and .228 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 6
- Away Mike Pelfrey is about 10 starts away from no longer being a MLB pitcher, He has been horrible all year and I think even MIN has better options. He draws a nice matchup today in CHW but I think this is a better chance for CHW’s bats to come around then it is for Pelfrey to pitch a gem. CHW is batting .242 at home, .250 versus left-handers, and .252 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 3
Batter Grind Down
- Home CHW has a .358 BAA as a team versus Pelfrey. Adam Dunn is a 8-31 with 2 HRs versus him. I also like Jordan Danks for a discount now that Rios is gone. Alexi Ramirez is super hot with 30.25 fp over the last week. He was a silver slugger a couple of years ago and Pelfrey is allowing right-handers a .336 BAA.RG Stack Rating 6
- Away Both CLE and DET stack Lefties against the kid and it did not work. He has a .179 BAA versus left-handers so far. MIN has to very talented left-handers in Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau so I would consider using them. RG Stack Rating 4

BAL vs R | BAL BvP | SFG vs L | SFG BvP | ||||||
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – BAL -120
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Chad Gaudin has been fantasy gold recently because of his value. His price has gone up now but I do not think the ride is over. His 1.88 home ERA and .207 home BAA are very good and he is just 3 Ks away from being a K per inning guy in SFO. BAL is a real challenge but I think he is worth the risk in this pitcher’s park considering BAL will have to sit one of their bats. BAL is batting .272 on the road, .275 versus right-handers, and .266 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 7
- Away Wei-Yen Chen next start come against a struggling SFO team but when you have given up 3 ER to SEA, HOU and KAN in your 3 starts before that I do not think that you can jump on board SFO as a matchup play. Chen has been hot but SFO hits left-handers at a high rate and he is not as good of a pitcher as he has been so far this year. SFO is batting .259 at home, .253 versus left-handers, and .216 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 4
Batter Grind Down
- Home Scutaro, Posey and Pence all are hiting over .300 versus left-handers. Pablo Sandoval has historically hit lefties well and is also in play. Jeff Francoeur is 3-8 versus Chen if he gats the start. RG Stack Rating 3
- Away Guadin is holding right-handers to a .174 BAA and allowing Left-handers a .264 BAA so if you ared going to take anyone from BAL it should be either Nate Mclouth, Nick Markakis or Chris Davis. RG Stack Rating 4
